Dear Maam Rose,

Over the last three years, ZSL Philippines implemented two important projects in your municipality to
support Marine Sanctuary establishment, mangrove rehabilitation, coastal resource management planning,
and associated-livelihoods of target fishing communities and associations directed towards improving
community resilience, biodiversity and fisheries. These were the projects: Darwin Initiative Mangrove in
MPAS (1 Apr 2014- 31 Mar 2017) and Reefs Enforced to Enhance Fisheries through Local Government
Networking (18 May 2015- 31 Dec 2016) supported by British and German governments, respectively
involving 12 barangays in the Municipalities of Bantayan, Madridejos and Sta. Fe, Cebu. These projects have
been completed and finally closed by the donors in August 2017.

We are inviting you to a Project Closing and Turn-over Ceremonies scheduled on 12-13 October 2017 at
the Mayor’s office in the respective LGUs together with other key officials and staff of the municipality:
 Mayor and Vice Mayor
 SB Chair on Committee of Agriculture and Fisheries
 Secretary to the SB
 Municipal Agriculturist, Fisheries Technician, and MENRO

We want to report and share to the Local Chief Executives and other key stakeholders the following: i)
Project accomplishment of both projects, ii) Issues and challenges we faced; and iii) Remaining tasks and
future actions. We also aim to turn-over important project outputs to the respective LGUs for use and
reference in succeeding conservation planning and management actions of important coastal and marine
resources in your municipality.
