    Dear ………,

    How are you doing?

    I hope you well and that you had a fastastic time on your birthday party

    I am so sorry that I was not there to celebrate with you, and for not letting you know beforehand
    I wouldn’t be able to come. I feel terrible that I have not the time to contact you until now

    I can not attend at you birthday party because I have to go out of city for important work to do,
    and I can not be replaced by other people. I was in danger of losing my job if I did not go there.
    So I haven’t been able to think about anything else other than that things. This is why I couldn’t
    be at you birthday party, and I didn’t call to tell you I wouldn’t be there.

    I really hope you will forgive me for being so thoughtless. And I hope you will let me make it up
    to you. By way of an apology, I have bought tickets for us both to go for watching a movie in the
    weekend. I hope you will come.
