Environment Cost Benefit Analysis

Net present value –

 Total investment – 30 Crores
 Towards Plant & Machinery – 24.96 Crores

Cost incurred towards the EMS measures

 Integrated into the process of manufacturing of AC Flat sheets &

NAC Flat sheets, are various measures implemented towards
I. Proper storage of RM, FG & Waste material
II. air pollution control
III. waste water recycling
IV. sludge recycling
V. Hard waste recycling
VI. Green belt development
VII. Air quality monitoring through Work zone, stack & ambient
air
VIII. Usage of PPEs where applicable
IX. Medical surveillance scheme implementation
X. Water conservation.
XI. Energy conservation measures
XII. Statutory norms compliance & submission of the same
XIII. Environment audit as per HWM Rule.

 Cost on EMS implementation (as detailed above) – 1.6 Crore

Cost Benefit
 It can be achieved on a recurring basis regularly, once all the
operations are on right track

I. By hard waste recycling –

By hard waste recycling at 2.5% (of RM weight), by
replacing equal quantity of cement at the capacity output
of both AC & NAC Product, we can save Rs. 38 Lacs & 8 Lacs
respectively per annum by replacing cement. This also
conserves cement or indirectly precious lime stone.
II. By replacing Cement with Fly ash
By using a major fraction of Fly ash (around 40 to 45%)
in place of cement which is globally a big problem for the
thermal power stations as far as its storage is concerned.
Currently Fly ash is in use globally as one of the accepted.
Building construction material. This will benefit the
Company by around 3 to 5 Crores, annually, besides the
equivalent cement tonnage.
III. Intangible benefits by way of –
Clean air & water
Ability to avoid the perils & subsequent expenditure &
other shortfall from occupational hazards.
