I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the student will able to:
a. Identify the different fundamental position in folk dance;
b. Perform the fundamental position in folk dance,
c. Value the importance of folk dance.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


TOPIC: Fundamental Position in Folk Dance
REFERENCE: DepEd K-12 Learning Module in MAPEH 7 (pp.174-176)
MATERIALS : TV, PowerPoint Presentation, Laptop, Blackboard

A. ROUTINARY ACTIVITIES

Good Morning Class!


Good Morning Sir!

Let us begin our class with a prayer.

Anyone who will lead the prayer?


(one of the student lead the prayer)

Before you seat down, kindly arrange your chair


and if there are pieces of paper and candy
wrappers under your chair please pick up.
(student will pick up the pieces of paper and candy
wrapper under their chair)

Now, let us check your attendance.


Is there any absent in Group 1? None Sir.

How about in Group 2? None Sir.

Very good class for having a perfect attendance.


B. REVIEW OF THE PAST LESSON

Before we proceed to our next lesson, let us


have a short review to our previous topic.

C. MOTIVATION
It seems that you learned from your previous
topic. Now, are you familiar with the game word
search? I have here a table of letters and try to
find a word in it.

(Student will identify what are the words inside the


word search box)

(Tinikling, Singkil, Cariñosa and Binasuan)

IV. LESSON PROPER


(The teacher introduces what is Folk Dance)

Kindly read what is Folk Dance. (One of the students read the definition of Folk
Dance)

- Refers to the dances created and


performed collectively by the ordinary
people.

There are two kinds of Folk Dance; Regional


and National. What do you think is their
difference?

Now, what do you think is learning and
practicing Folk Dance important?

There are Fundamental Position of arms and feet
in Folk Dance. Kindly read the first position for
arms.
(Student will read the first arm position)
First Position – Encircle both arms in front of chest
with the finger tips about an inch apart.

How about the second position, who can read?


(Student will read the second arm position)

Second Position – Both arms raised sideward with a


graceful curve.

Next, who can read the third arm position?


(Student will read the third arm position)

Third Position – One arm raised sideward, the other


arm overhead.

Anyone wants to read the fourth arm position? (Student will read the fourth arm position)

Fourth Position – One arm in half circle front, other


arm raised overhead.

And the for the last position of arms who can


read?
(Student will read the fifth arm position)
Fifth Position – Both hands raised overhead.

Okay very good! For the feet position, I will
show you what are the fundamental positions
from first to fifth.

And for the last part, I will show you when you
are performing the combination of the arms and
feet position.

D. APPLICATION
Now class will be having a performance activity,
Direction: The class will be divided into four
groups. Each group will be asked to perform 3
fundamental positions in folk dance.

Class what do you think is the kind of dance shown in the picture? Then what do you think will
