SUBJECT ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY

Dear students, Prepare a Power Point Presentation having two questions based on the topic taught
in the class with proper explanation. You need to explain these questions during the online/offline
class activity. Date of the activity will be informed by the subject teacher through broadcast group.

SCIENCE

I. Attempt the following questions in single assignment sheet:

1. A 10 mm long nail is placed vertically in front of a converging mirror. A 5 mm long image of the
nail is formed at 30 cm in front of the mirror. Calculate the focal length of this mirror.
2. The given figure shows a ray of light as it travels from medium A to medium B. Calculate the
refractive index of the medium B relative to medium A.

3. An object is placed 18cm front of a mirror. If the image is formed at 4cm to the right of the mirror.
Calculate its focal length. Is the mirror convex or concave? What is the nature of the image? What
is the radius of curvature of the mirror?
4. A diverging mirror used for rear view on an automobile has a radius of curvature of 3m. If a bus
is located at 5m from this mirror, find the position, nature, and magnification of the image.
5. What happens when a piece of
(a) zinc metal is added to copper sulphate solution?
(b) aluminium metal is added to dilute hydrochloric acid?
(c) silver metal is added to copper sulphate solution? Also, write the balanced chemical equation
if the reaction occurs.
6. What happens when zinc granules are treated with dilute solution of H2SO4, HCl, HNO3, NaCl
and NaOH, also write the chemical equations if reaction occurs.
7. You are provided with two containers made up of copper and aluminium. You are also provided
with solutions of dilute HCl, dilute HNO3, ZnCl2 and H2O. In which of the above containers these
solutions can be kept?
8. How do carbohydrates, proteins and fats get digested in human beings?
9. Explain the mechanism of photosynthesis.
10. Explain the three pathways of breakdown of glucose in living organisms.

II. Prepare a single Science brochure/ catalogue including the following topics:

PHYSICS:
Draw ray diagrams for the concave and convex mirrors when object is placed at different positions.

CHEMISTRY:
Applications of rancidity and corrosion in everyday.

BIOLOGY:
Draw well labelled diagram of human respiratory system/ human heart/ human excretory system and
write 20-30 words about that.

Make your Science brochure/ catalogue informative and interesting by using proper means of
expression (newspaper cuttings, cartoons, flow chart, venn diagram, colour, using sticky notes, etc.)
➢ The assessment will be done on the basis of following criteria:
