    ART APPRECIATION SPECIAL M&E1


    1. Art Nouveau.

    The advocacy painting project was my favorite output for this


    semester. My work, entitled "Enough," is painted with poster
    paints on a 40 cm x 50 cm canvas and is inspired by two
    paintings, namely an untitled work of Malika Favre and Two
    Seconds to Spot by an ad agency, McCann. With this, I was
    able to define, create, and demonstrate the elements of art and
    the principles of design. Aside from this, through this project,
    I was able to research, learn, and reflect more about the topic
    the painting advocates for, which is ending violence against
    women, a prevalent issue in all nations and communities and
    among private, public, physical, and virtual spaces. This
    advocacy painting and its subject is my small initiative to
    bring focus and awareness to this issue.

    2. Art in Introspection of Life.

    Art enables us to express our thoughts and emotions.


    It is a type of language that allows us to comprehend
    each of its elements based on our perspective. This
    understanding of art, I believe, is the change on my
    mindset with regards to art in general. As I see
    different art forms and styles, I have learned to see
    and acknowledge the unspoken language it speaks. I
    have learned to read between the lines to comprehend
    its true meanings.

    3. Final Message for your Professor.
    To conclude this course, I would like to give my gratitude to our Art Appreciation
    professor, Sir Jumel G. Estrañero, because, quite literally, as the course title states, you
    have made me appreciate art better. Through this course and you, I was able to learn
    art, its elements, principles, history, and various artists, and their culturally important
    talents. I was also able to practice my skills in art and foster creativity, which I believed
    to be once non-existent. Thank you, sir! You have made this subject enjoyable and well
    worth learning.
