JUSTIFICATION
THEORY TEXT
Since the author, my father, dedicated this poem to me, I believe
that the reader-response will be the most appropriate literary
theory to use.

As a reader and daughter at the same time, I am actively

involved in creating meaning from the text.
Reader-
Response Also, my interpretation of the text changed overtime as I acquire
Theory experiences with him, the author. When I first read this, I was only
5-6 years old. During those times, it was just a promise of a parent
to his kid. But as I grow up, the fulfillment of these promises has
greatly affected my interpretation of this text. And now that he is
gone, I also had a different meaning of the text, which is more
about the gratitude that I feel for him for fulfilling his promises.

JUSTIFICATION
The story used the magic realism technique all throughout the novel. A
magic seat allows the characters to go back in time and go to future. A
female ghost sits on this chair most of the time, and only takes CR breaks
from time to time. This CR break allows the characters to sit there and travel
in time. The coffee serves as the timer as they stay somewhere in time.
Before the coffee gets cold, they should be able to accomplish their goal
for travelling and bid goodbye to the person they are talking to.
Psychoanalytic approach can be used in the beginning of each chapter.
The author used the words properly to denote different feelings which the
readers will have to read between the lines to get. In each chapter, the
characters expressed sadness, desperation, regret, and even hope.
Towards the end of each chapter, the readers will then find another
psychoanalytic approach used by the author. The readers will have to
analyze the lines which carries the emotions of each characters. Towards
the end of the chapters, the readers may feel lighter, happier, fuller of
hope, and more ready to face the next chapter of their lives.
