Parties and Food

School hours this year are 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Students will start being removed from cars and buses at 8:45. Students will not be permitted in the building prior, or outside unsupervised, before that time as there will not be adult supervision until 8:45. Dismissal will begin at 2:50. Please call the school office before 10:00 AM when your child is going to be absent. If it is before 8:00 AM, call 9433804 and leave a message stating your childs name, homeroom teachers name, your name and the reason for the absence.

School fees are $50.00 per child. Minimum payments must be total amount due per quarter. Checks should be made payable to Amelia Elementary School. You may send payment for school fees in with your child. Please try to pay fees by the end of September.

We love to celebrate birthdays in Kindergarten so treats are welcomed! You may only send in PACKAGED treats. Please deliver your childs birthday treats to the office by 10:00 for our snack at 10:30. We will be having a snack daily from 10:30-10:40. Please pack your childs snack in a separate bag outside of their lunch box. This will help them to get their snack out on their own. It would also be GREATLY appreciated if your family would supply the classroom with extra snacks. A bag of cereal is perfect. A package of wet wipes would be very helpful to make sure that students work areas are clean after snack time. Our Winter Party is on December 22nd or 23rd at 2:00 depending on your childs assigned day.

Conferences/ Report Card

Book orders

A classroom is not complete without parent help. Please consider volunteering for any amount of time during the week. Your child will LOVE to see you in our classroom! All school volunteers must be fingerprinted before working with the students. Please stop by the School Board office at:
4350 Aicholtz Road, Suite 220, Cincinnati, Ohio 45245 . The

office is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between the hours of 8:0011:00 A.M. and 1:00- 4:00 P.M. If you have questions, please phone 943-5000.

There are 2 scheduled conference times. The first one is November 15th or 21st from 5:00-8:30 pm. The second one is in January 31st or February 7th from 5:008:30 pm. Your child will bring home a report card at the end of each quarter. Please sign and return the report card envelop. Reports are for you to keep.

Scholastic Book orders will come home throughout the year with GREAT literacy choices. Your order also gives your childs classroom free books. All Scholastic orders will be filled out online. I will send home the username and password with the first book order.

Guest Reader Program PTA Events

Another way to volunteer is to read a book to your childs class. Guest readers can be anyone that is special to your child. All the guest reader has to do is email me a day/ time and bring in their favorite book to read to the class. The best part is that it will be a total surprise to everyone even your little one!

Our Math program is Everyday Math. This math program is very interactive and will help your child connect math concepts to the real world.

At the end of the day your child will be taken to dismissal locations. o Car pool and last names A-H are in the Cafe. o Last names I-Z are in the Gym.

Lunch is from 12:30-1:00. I welcome you to join your little one for lunch! It is STRONGLY suggested that your family create a lunch account for your child. Many times children forget to tell us they have money or cant find it in their book bag. If your family creates a lunch account no money will be given to the child, it will all be covered on line. Please visit, www.myschoolaccount.com to set up your account. If you wish to send in money for lunch please send your childs money in an envelope with your childs name and school I.D. number. This will make morning lunch count easy for me and your child. If you need your childs school I.D. please send me an email or note.

Homework will be given out on Mondays or Tuesdays in the beginning of each month depending on your childs scheduled day.

Your child WILL ONLY be dismissed when the person picking your child matches the tag number on your childs book bag.

It is imperative that your child Kindergarten and your family practice on Graduation skills while your child is not in school. With our new schedule your childs learning while be the most successful and sustaining if you work on the monthly skills packet nightly. Transportation Plan

Recess

We have two scheduled recess times. Your child will receive recess from 10:45-11:00 and 1:00-1:15.

With the loss of transportation, communication about your childs dismissal is extremely important. If your child is going to change their normal plan please send an email, write a note, and notify the office.
