Re: Customer Traffic Analysis

Thank you for the opportunity to assess your customer traffic data in order to provide
recommendations for improving operations. The analysis and recommendations below are based
on the 10 years of data you provided. The analysis below is based on this data alone. Therefore,
my recommendations should be tempered by your knowledge of business realities and your market.
Please let me know if I can answer any questions concerning the analysis or the recommendations
provided.

For this Excel project, I use pivot tables and line charts to organize my data, so it is easy to
understand. It does provide a clear representation of the data and reporting on the 10 weeks of data
provided. The days and hours are sorted in a natural order.

ANALYSIS 1 – Hourly Patterns by Week Analysis

Analysis

After performing analysis and observing carefully. Very busy days include the following Friday and
Saturday, but not any other day. These two days tend to be the two days that are busy for the RGV
Bank. RGV Bank noted that Friday had the highest number of customers between 11 am and 1 pm.
Even though it's only three hours on Saturday, there are still plenty of customers between 10 am to
12 pm. For this data visualization, I used a 3D line graph.

Recommendation

Based on observations from the given analysis, my suggestion would be for the bank to hire more
people who work in the bank for good service and customer satisfaction to avoid long waits. Online

virtual service is available on Saturday as it is only open for three hours. Scheduling and
implementing virtual options can help services go faster and smoother.

ANALYSIS 2 – Daily/ Hourly Main Branch

Analysis

After doing my analysis and carefully analyzing and observing the given data, I was able to point out
that the total number of customers in the main branch is very different from the rest of the other
branches. However, it still shows that there are indeed many customers from noon to 1 pm.
Perhaps, maybe people who work will have their lunch break and go to the bank during that hour.

Recommendation

I would recommend that the manager of this main branch talks to his workers and arrange their
lunch hours one hour after and one hour before. One hour before noon and one hour after 1 pm. To
avoid any inconvenience this may cause to the loyal customers trying to get any services done and
avoiding long waits.

ANALYSIS 3 – Daily/Hourly patterns by all branches

Analysis

After performing the purpose of this trend and analyzing the customer traffic and analyzing all
branches of the bank. I can see that customers tend to visit their bank, but the amount of time they
visit varies from day to day. Most of the numbers look slightly the same from the following Monday
to Thursday. The only days where I see a slight change are Friday and Saturday. From my point of
view is that people tend to visit the bank more often on Friday before the weekend arrives to get
things done. There are more people visiting the bank on Saturdays since many people do not work
on Saturdays and want to perform their transactions. Most of the time, people visit the bank more
on Saturday because payday is Friday, and once, they are out of their work and are closed, they
decide to go the next day. For this data visualization, I decided to use a stack line graph to help me
understand better to read and organize better my data.

Recommendation

My suggestion is that every branch manager in every bank should have a meeting with their staff
and set up their schedule arrangement. So, instead of the bank being short in personnel during
busy hours there should be more workers to avoid the long period of waiting and will decrease the
number of lost customers.

SELF ASSESSMENT
It was a big challenge for me to complete this Excel project RGV Bank Memo I was able to learn
how to organize the data very interestingly and make it more decent, easier to understand, and

easier to read. As I was creating the pivot chart it made it easier for me to understand RGV Bank's
customer analytics.

I am able to give my views and any suggestions to improve any inconvenience and find possible
solutions for the bank by improving customer satisfaction.

In obtaining data visualization I was able to point out and assist the RGV Bank to improve the
difficulties that might be having to improve their goals.

As I was learning to organize and analyze data it helped me understand how important it is to come
up with a strategic plan, just like this business organization. I was able to give a recommendation on
the evidence being provided.

In conclusion, data decision-making based on a given data can help make a better solution(s) to
make a positive impact in an organization.
