The admission procedure for the B.Tech program at IIITs ensures that only
the very best students make it to their campuses. The admission is carried
out through the highly competitive national level examination, JEE Mains.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The curriculum for the B.Tech and M.tech program in IIIT-LUCKNOW is innovative and "inverts the pyramid".

Usual engineering programs start with general courses in sciences and engineering and then migrate to specialized courses for the disciplines. While these courses
are indeed foundational for many engineering disciplines, they are not foundational for IT - rather they can be treated as application domains. Based on this
observation, the programs at IIIT-LUCKNOW start with computing-oriented courses first and allow the possibility of doing science courses later. Besides being better
suited for an IT program, it also enables students to seek newer applications and possibilities of relating IT with these subjects.

With this approach, the programS can be divided broadly into two halves. The first half will focus on building the foundations and will be highly structured. The
second part is for further developing the skills and knowledge of the students in various topics - computing and non-computing. This part also provides limited
specializations, and different students may follow different paths and take a different set of courses in it.

DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY

This program caters to the candidate’s keen interest to pursue research independently and
their ability to convert the same knowledge into industry experience. This tenacious
course lasts for a period of 3-5 years and is the highest degree awarded, based on the
student’s ability to learn from the existing knowledge, improvise and devise new theories.

Admission into the prestigious Ph.D. program is rigorous and tests every aspect of the
applicant’s personality. The students are filtered through a stringent process of
application shortlisting, making sure only the most talented students make it into the
program. A candidate has to either qualify for the highly competitive GATE examination or
have to score exceptionally well in UGC-NET(JRF) which is then followed by a coding round
and an interview/presentation detailing their interest, their reason, and their work ethic.

Such a process brings forth the fighting spirit of the candidate and makes sure that they
put their best foot forward. The skills they accumulate throughout their tenure, whether
through their publications in esteemed journals and conferences or their interactions with

 OUR SOCIETIES

The Cultural Club of IIIT Lucknow is officially the home to all the co-curricular societies (like literary, dance, music, etc.) and
unofficially, the "fun side" of college life. The club has been inaugurated to unite all the societies under one roof, providing every
society a realm to interact with the other, working shoulder to shoulder and lending a helping hand to each other whenever
necessary.

AFTERDARK
AfterDark is the photography society of IIIT Lucknow. The society aims to
promote and inculcate interest by providing a platform for the students of the
institute to hone and showcase their skills in photography, editing, and
cinematography. It is the most followed cultural club of IIITL. The members
build upon their existing skill set by introducing them to editing and giving
them tips on advanced photography, which brings professional quality to their
photos.

GOONJ
Goonj the dramatics society of IIIT Lucknow. The society seeks to pique young
passionate students' interest in theatre and its numerous facets. Covering every
feature of human society ranging from humour to serious issues to social dramas
and hoping to educate and delight the public at the same time through staging
plays, street plays, mimes, and other kinds of art. The name refers to the
reverberation of the voices of students on social and political issues that they
often try to shed light on via their performances.

ZEPHYR
Founded in Aug 2019, Zephyr, the dance society of IIIT Lucknow is believed to be a
culmination of people who love to express themselves through dance helping in paving the
way for an individual to be truly themselves by acting as a getaway from academic
pressures and expectations. Offering much more than dance, in just two years, Zephyr has
managed to not only create a group of individuals who treat each other like family but has
also created an experience of making memories together and contributing to a common
passion for dance.

Utkrisht is the fine arts society and an integral part of the IIIT Lucknow
family. The club was created to provide an outlet and a means of
relaxation as it fosters a culture of creative spirit and provides a
platform for the students to showcase their incredible art skills. A place
where creativity and art skills are nurtured dexterously, Utkrisht has
blossomed into a large family of like-minded individuals.

ESTRELLA
Estrella is the music society of IIIT Lucknow. It diligently serves as a means to
bring all the music lovers of the university together and revel in their shared
passion by not only helping people with similar interests to mingle but also as a
way to escape from the monotonous academic life. Consistently working to
celebrate diversity and encourage harmony and form a tight-knit group of people
who support each other to grow, the society has always been committed to
spread the joy of music to everyone and bring a smile to everyone's faces.

CROTONIA
Crotonia, the literary society of IIIT Lucknow. Ever since the beginning, it has
always been focused to bring literature to the forefront and has transcended
to give exposure to budding writers, poets, and speakers. From organizing
MUNX to Qurbat, the society has achieved impressive milestones in a very
short span proving to be the best platform for like-minded individuals to
discover their individuality.

EIFER
Eifer is the most active and the official Sports Society of IIIT Lucknow. As evident from
the name itself, its main aim is to encourage the students to take part in sports and
keep the spirit alive. Its main focus is to make sure that every person who is interested
in any sport has enough opportunities to reach their goal. Recently, Eifer society has
organized its first Annual Intra College Sports Fest - INFINITO that encompassed a wide
range of sports witnessing total participation of over 400+ students, setting a huge
milestone for Eifer.

 STUDENT LIFE

Although the institute aims to develop students academically, they also enjoy
various extracurricular facilities, There are about 18 active, student-driven clubs
including the programming club AXIOS and the CULTURAL clubs like GOONJ,
AFTERDARK, ZEPHYR, ESTRELLA, UTKRISHT, CROTONIA, etc. These clubs
regularly host intra-college competitions (academic as well as cultural) and
sessions open to all students of the institute.

Students enjoy 24-hour access to modern sports facilities as well as a well-

furnished gym. Intra-IIIT tournaments are held every semester. There are two
main student festivals - the techno-cultural festival EQUINOX, which has now
become one of the most vibrant tech-fests in UTTAR PRADESH. The fest has large
external participation and various contests. IIIT-Lucknow students also
previously organized the EQUINOX GLOBAL CONCLAVE event, which was hugely
successful with excellent young inspirational speakers. In addition, there are
internal sports and cultural events.

the tech community all around the globe to participate in its broad spectrum of astounding events aimed to foster innovative ideas
and technical diversity.
Equinox agglomerates over more than 35 events in its store encompassing every wavelength of the technical spectrum rewarding
prizes over Rs 2 lakhs and various goodies to the commendable and worthy victors. Leaving no stone unturned this year, 2023 was

 CAMPUS & FACILITIES

The new campus of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Lucknow has been developed on 50 acres of land in the
fast-emerging I.T. City in Ahmamau, Lucknow.
Currently, the campus has a fully functional academic & administrative block.
The new IIITL campus is being established in I.T. City, Lucknow, the heart of Uttar Pradesh’s IT hub over 50 acres of land,
offers a modern university experience amongst towering structures, scenic greens, physically handicapped friendly, and
modern architecture. It’s a home away from home for its students coming from across the country and abroad. The fully
residential campus has completed its phase one of construction and the institute now has a fully airconditioned
administrative and academic block, the academic block has multiple labs and classrooms all equipped with top-notch
infrastructure.
A massive ground for sports activities is being made and for the accommodation of students a co-educational hostel with 102
fully furnished rooms has been built.

From the onset of IIIT Lucknow in 2015, the sessions here have always been incredibly rewarding with numerous achievements sprinkled
into the mix. The students’ prowess in the technical field is extremely obvious with all that they have managed to achieve.

In the ever-important coding field, our students excel, ranking well over students studying in much older institutions.
With two students achieving the revered status of Master on Codeforces, one student rated as Candidate Master, and over 20 Experts,
the college’s presence on the platform is very well established. Furthermore, we are proud to have two 6-star and eleven 5-star coders
on CodeChef, showcasing the exceptional coding talent within our institution.

A total of 6 students i.e. two teams have qualified for the regionals of ACM-ICPC, which is considered to be one of the toughest coding
competitions in existence.

One of the most momentous achievements of the Institute is the fact that it has seven students who have been awarded the Google
Summer of Code fellowship which is notoriously hard to crack.

On the machine learning front, we have multiple students who are Expert on Kaggle (only 0.1% of all Kaggle users are Expert or above).

Apart from this, we as an Institute hold all-around development in the highest regard and we believe that a hackathon is the best avenue
to showcase that. One of the teams from our Institute has been selected among the top 1% of 35000 candidates in Uber HackTag 2.0
and won the Grand Prize of Graph Protocol Track in ETHCC Hackathon. They have also placed third in Sorvython and two awards in
HackAtom V Hackathon.

Our students have also qualified for prestigious mentorship programs like Google's Code-in, Google Women Techmakers Engineering
Fellows, DeShaw’s DESIS, LinkedIn CoachIn and Harvard WEAmplify. Additionally, we take great pride in announcing that one student
from our college has been awarded Adobe's WIT Scholarship in which only 6 students were selected from all over India.
