SSSU Command View Commands:
LS SYSTEM
ADD HOST
The ADD HOST command adds a host and its WWN to the list of hosts that can connect to virtual disks
in the current storage system. The ADD HOST command adds one FCA only. Use the “SET HOST”
(page 74) command to add each subsequent adapter.
NOTE: For all Windows 2012 hosts, HP recommends using Microsoft Windows 2012 host mode
while creating a host.

New) Which statement is true regarding the PDUs and PDMs in an EVA rack?
8|Page
The standard power configuration for any HP Enterprise Virtual Array rack is the fully redundant
configuration. Implementing this configuration requires:
Two separate circuit breaker-protected, 30-A site power sources with a compatible wall
receptacle.
One dual PDU assembly. Each PDU connects to a different wall receptacle.
Four to eight (depending on the rack) Power Distribution Modules (PDMs) per rack. All PDMs
are located (side by side in pairs) on the left side of the rack. Each set of PDMs connects to
a different PDU.
◦ Eight PDMs for 42U, 47 U, and 42U 5642 racks
◦ Six PDMs for 36U racks
◦ Four PDMs for 22U racks
Each controller enclosure has two power supplies:
Controller PS 1 connects to the left PDM in a PDM pair with a black, 66 cm (26 inch)
power cord.
◦
◦ Controller PS 2 connects to the right PDM in a PDM pair with a gray, 152 cm (60 inch)
power cord.
Depending on the rack, there can be up to eight PDMs mounted in the rear of the rack:
The PDMs on the left side of the PDM pairs connect to PDU 1.
The PDMs on the right side of the PDM pairs connect to PDU 2.
Each PDM has seven AC receptacles. The PDMs distribute the AC power from the PDUs to the
enclosures. Two power sources exist for each controller pair and disk enclosure. If a PDU fails, the
system will remain operational.

New) What does the SSSU term spare policy translate to in Command View?
Determines the amount of storage space, if any, set aside for use in the event
that disks fail. The space set aside is not in numbers of physical disks. It is the
equivalent amount of storage space spread across all disks.
NOTE:
Using a spare policy of none can cause data loss and is not
recommended.
• None—Reserves no space within a disk group to allow for data reconstruction
in case of a disk drive failure
• Single—Reserves space within a disk group to allow for data reconstruction
in case of a failure of one disk drive (default)
• Double—Reserves space within a disk group to allow for data reconstruction
in case of a failure of two disk drives

23) What does the select manager subcommand do?
SELECT MANAGER
The SELECT MANAGER command configures SSSU for use on the specified HP Command View EVA
instance. The manager name can be a management server name or an IP address. The user name
and password are the account credentials that were created for you during HP Command View EVA
installation. The user name and password are validated in the background on every command.
NOTE:
The SELECT MANAGER command is available for use in batch scripts only. When the command is
run from a script, the command does not display on screen nor is it redirected to a file.
When HP Storage Scripting Utility is connected to an HP Command View EVA server in interactive
mode, the SELECT MANAGER command can be issued again to connect to another HP Command
View EVA server. The SELECT MANAGER command prompts for hostname, username, and password;
however, the password is optional.
Syntax
SELECT MANAGER manager_name USERNAME=user_name|domain_name\user_name
SELECT SYSTEM
The SELECT SYSTEM command directs the command prompt to the selected array. All configuration

26) What is the approximate maximum virtual disk size for a disk
group with 10 36GB drives and a disk protection level of Single?
A. 134 GB
B. 202 GB
C. 270 GB
D. 338 GB
Answer: C
Explanation:
To find out the maximum virtual disk size, you have to multiply 10 by
36. That makes 360 GB.
Now you have to calculate the spare allocation. Normally space
allocation is calculated by dividing 36 GB by 4. The result will be 90
GB. Now minus 90 GB from 360 and you will get 270 GB as the
maximum virtual disk size for a disk group.
