Nada is musical sound. It is a sound with a particular frequency that sustains for a
considerable period of time. This unique concept of Indian music, finds its origin from
Nadabrahma, due to its spiritual nature. The word 'Nada', originated from 'nadyate'. Nada is
of two kinds Ahata and Anahata. The latter is described as super human sound, which is not
audible to an ordinary human being. The former is the one which is audible to human ear.
Ahata nada can be classified into- Shariraja, Charmaja, Lohaja, Vayuja etc., according to the
source from where
it is generated.
