About this course
Managing users in Entrust Identity Enterprise is a two-day, instructor-led, hands-on overview of
account management operations in Entrust Identity Enterprise. Course you will assume the role
of all administrator levels and will log into Entrust Identity Enterprise Administration from their
Web browser to perform basic management operations, including creating and editing accounts
and assigning authentication types.
The course begins with a discussion of the security requirement of authentication, and you will
review different authentication methods. Entrust Identity Enterprise is introduced as a solution
for authenticating the identity of users and an overview of the components of the Entrust Identity
Enterprise environment will be presented.
The properties editor and the Master command shell will both be covered first, then
administrators will spend their time creating and managing user identities as we layer on
authentication methods Course you will perform administrative operations using Entrust Identity
Enterprise Administration through a standard Web browser; bulk operations will also be
discussed as a way of automating some of the administrative operations.
As part of the course, you will assign authentication types to accounts, including grids,
hardware tokens, software tokens, machine information, and one-time passwords. Hands-on
exercises at the end of each lesson provide you with the opportunity to apply the knowledge
gained through the lecture portion of the lesson.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
• Demonstrate the value of authentication, and describe the authentication methods enabled
through Entrust Identity Enterprise
• Describe the basic components and interfaces in the Entrust Identity Enterprise system
• Work with the Properties Editor
• Perform typical administrative tasks using Entrust Identity Enterprise Administration and bulk
operations
• Create and manage Entrust Identity Enterprise accounts
• Assign authentication types to accounts
• Learn about logging and reporting withing Identity Enterprise
• Access the self-service portal for account self-registration and self-administration

Prerequisites
While prior knowledge of the concepts surrounding authentication is helpful, you do not require
any previous experience with Entrust products. Previous experience with the Windows
operating system is required as the hands-on exercises are completed on computers running
Windows Server
Who should attend this course
This two-day hands-on course is intended for technology professionals who will be responsible
for managing end-user accounts in Entrust Identity Enterprise, including Help Desk agents and
support team members.
