    GEORG TO ALPHA
    UPDATE ON PHASE IN / PHASE OUT (GEORG TO ALPHA)

    Dear all,

    This bulletin informs you on the latest status and information regarding the phase in of our Alpha and
    the phase out of Georg cylinders.

    Alpha cylinders have been gradually introduced in all markets starting in 2013. Since then, the
    majority of all Georg cylinders have been replaced. After the introduction, more and more Alpha
    cylinders where created and the number of Georg cylinders produced have dropped. Still, we see a
    demand for some Georg cylinders in our daily production and forecast. Of which the majority is for
    after market purposes. To phase out the last part numbers we want to bring the alternatives under
    your attention.

    Georg to Alpha – conversion list for all frequently ordered and forecasted Georg cylinders

    A conversion list is made to indicate which ALPHA type is a one-to-one replacement of your Georg
    type. This list is shown on page 3 of this bulletin. The ALPHA-alternative is linked to the Georg item in
    ERP to allow our Customer Service department to change any future Georg order to ALPHA.
    When there was no one-to-one replacement ready in the Alpha range but not sold in 2019 there is no
    replacement created to avoid not used cylinders in the ERP.
    When a replacement is needed for a Georg cylinder without alternative cylinder@hyva.com can be
    contacted to support to find a suitable alternative. In other non Georg related cases Application
    Engineering should be first contact.

    Some of the piston eyes will have a different width in the replacement Alpha cylinder.
    For these cases we have filler rings available. Depending on the width of the top bracket the filler ring
    can be selected. We advise between 0.5-1 mm space on both sides of the eye, as mentioned in the
    mounting instructions.

    Special attention for the Schmitz Cargobull replacement cylinders

    4 special items are created to replace the Georg style Schmitz cylinders with Alpha materials. These
    cylinders shall be used for aftermarket purposes only (replacements on existing trailers). See below
    picture for your reference:

    Ordering Georg will no longer be possible from 02-01-2020

    Be aware that all Georg-cylinders are blocked for new orders in ERP. This is done by changing the
    item signal to “obsolete” or to “item with aged inventory”. By doing so we allow any cylinders on stock
    to be sold, but new orders will be blocked.

    Ordering FLASH will no longer be possible

    As a reminder on the previous phase out bulletin (PBTS- 2019-0008) distributed.


    Be aware that all* FLASH-cylinders are blocked for new orders in ERP. This is done by changing the
    item signal to “obsolete” or to “item with aged inventory”. By doing so we allow any cylinders on stock
    to be sold, but new orders will be blocked.

    The ALPHA-alternative is linked to the FLASH item in ERP to allow our Customer Service department
    to change any future FLASH order to ALPHA.

    *Exceptions: FC cylinders with a double acting piston (1DA) are currently not yet available in Alpha
    and will therefore remain available in FLASH till further notice.
