Swiss Federal Railway (SBB) has
ordered new double-deck trains for
intercity and inter-regional service.
The IR200 high-capacity standard
interregional train is one of three
models.
The new TWINDEXX Swiss Express
high-speed double-deck train is
setting completely new standards
in passenger transportation. The
innovative train design features
low-floor access, wide doors for fast
passenger boarding, and an even
floor-level gangway throughout the
Commuter and regional trains

design also increases passenger
comfort in tunnels or when passing
other trains.

The “Interregio” trains offer a large
seating capacity as well as generous
luggage storage spaces and multi-
purpose areas with bicycle and ski
racks. The air-conditioned trains are

equipped with wheelchair access,
an electronic passenger information
and emergency call system as well as
surveillance cameras.
