Security and Safety Incident
It is stated aviación al día (2021), that an Air France flight bound for Paris-Charles de Gaulle,
returned to the point from where it had departed which was Beijing airport just 14 minutes after
it started its course where it had to make an emergency landing due to a technical malfunction,
in which a roar was heard and a black smoke appeared inside the plane.
This was caused by "A failure in the pneumatic system of the aircraft caused an over
pressurization in one of the air conditioning ducts, which spread debris and dust in the cabin"
Fortunately, there were no casualties in this safety incident, the aircraft was able to land
It is said that ¨maintenance work will be carried out on the aircraft before it is returned to
The aviation industry after the investigation was able to notice and learn from this incident
that no matter how many protocols and reviews are performed before a flight, always in the
course may occur situations like the ones mentioned above, so the aviation industry in general
must be prepared for anything that happens either in the air or when the plane is still on the
ground, here they made a quick decision to send an emergency landing order and mechanics

According to Mayerowitz, (2010) on January 6, 2010, the Oregon Air National Guard sent
two fighter jets after a passenger on a Hawaiian Airlines flight to Maui refused to drop his carry-
on luggage and passed what was reported to be a disturbing and threatening note to a flight
attendant.
The flight had been in the air for 40 minutes and the pilot in command decided to report
something suspicious and immediately two fighter jets followed him back to Portland, due to the
situation that was occurring with the passenger during the flight, as it could endanger the lives
of other passengers and therefore the captain in command decided to return the plane to its
origin of departure; Where it landed and immediately and the authorities in charge of this type
of events removed the passenger and all other people were taken to their destination
It is said that "the passenger, a 56-year-old man from Salem, Oregon, was eventually
released without charges after being questioned by the FBI" (Mayerowitz, 2010).
What the aviation industry after investigating and learning from this incident was that although
it was something that could have been more serious, but was nevertheless categorized as a low-
level incident, aviation authorities should always be aware of what the captain in command
communicates so that they can take the necessary actions quickly and safeguard the lives of
others.
