Document Development Exposition: White Paper

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
When planning my white paper, I started by listing all my problems and then listing my solutions next
to them. From here I created my titles and subtitles and then added my detailed information as I
went filling in the blank.

First Draft (for peer editing)

For my first draft, I was jumping everywhere throughout my white paper. I would start with my
problems then I would jump to how the solutions fixed the problem and then jump to solutions. By
doing this, I ran into the problem of everything sounding chunky. When I read it, nothing flowed
together. I fixed this by reading paragraph by paragraph and trying to add transitions.

Second Draft (for your packet)

For my second draft, I didn’t get very many critiques. There were some spelling errors that I had to
correct. For the most part I turned my first draft in as my second draft as well.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

For my final draft, I went through all the comments that were made and started adjusting with track
changes. I went back and changed my paper to block style by getting rid of the indent and leaving a
space in between paragraph. I also went back and changed the wording to make it more formal.
Choosing the wording for this assignment was probably the hardest part.
