Over the years face-to-face learning was the basic way of learning new things. Today

technology and the world of it has surpassed the norm of face-to-face learning. Latest trends of

learning have rapidly taken over the web. Learning have changed globally to recent technologies

called online learning. Online learning in my classroom provides students internet access to

project-based learning. School, businesses, colleges, churches, have all gone to the system of

learning online. The reason technology works in the classroom is because it is linked to the

internet access allowing each student a computer where they can sharpen the curriculum as they

make significant choices through their performances in learning. New habit of learning is here to

stay. The entire K-12 has adopted this learning habit through use of technology and online

learning practices by way of distance learning and multimedia.

Through using the computers, it will change students to think like a scientist, historian,

web designer, etc. This goes further beyond teaching, and it incorporates how to troubleshoot

network malfunctions. When identifying the numbers of technology, we can look at the way

computers, software, video cameras, video school-based access can be used in today’s school

system. Teachers use multimedia and therefore it enhances learning when coding specificity

information.

As we look today at the trends and initiatives, they involve self-directed learning and

lifelong learning. Since the pandemic learning has been scaled back for some and advanced for

others in three ways:

 virtual classrooms use mostly during the pandemic, inclement weather or natural disaster.

To accommodate video-based learning, most students are at home or in a learning

environment set by parents. My students sign into their power school account. There

they will meet their teacher and their classmates. They can take instructions from their

teacher and engage in conversations. Assignments are given and this will open a new

world of learning on how to maneuver the web for assignments and instructions. This is

our virtual learning environment.

 webinars- free fun and interactive video are available to schools and approved for K-12

learning. Attached are tones of YouTube channels that would be helpful resources in

lesson planning. Students can view them individually or in a group setting.

 e-learning- E-learning is usually delivered via a personal computer, or a teacher if used in

the classroom. It includes learning delivered through both computer and communications

technology. Such devices can include personal computers, CDROMs, Television, PDAs,

MP3 Players, and Mobile Phones. Teachers may find this useful as an added resource for

planning.

Today’s trends and initiatives in online learning is endless in our K-12 classrooms. As a

fifteen-year educator there have been changes to online learning for both the teacher and the

students in the classroom. Through social learning I like to use chats, forums, learning circles,

and sharing sessions with my students. I can engage with my students, observe behaviors, and

examine students interacting during online assignments.

I recently read that there seems to be a growing population of adults who are

experiencing the interaction through online learning. This may be in the privacy of their home,

in the office, or sitting in a restaurant they too are mastering successful connection and goal

seeking abilities. Some are exploring the word of digital video, images, text, questions, and text

box in ways to present problematic scenarios to facilitate progress. Online learning brings
together cultures, religion, countries, sports, history, finance, world news and reading ability to

the area of diversity. Online learning is the future for all K-12 learners where teachers mission is

to educate, engage, and empower each student to succeed in a dynamic world.
