History and Civics Grade 8- Project Guidelines

Dear Students, Preparation of a project is an important aspect of a students’ life and it helps to learn
better by doing it on our own. It carries 20 Marks.

• All work to be done by hand.

• The Project should be of minimum 10 to 15 pages.

• The project to be submitted on or before 15th November

Sequence to be followed for the PROJECT:

• Title of the project.

• Name section and roll number of the child.

• Content or the Index.

• Acknowledgement.

• Introduction.

• Body part of the topic using different headings.

• Conclusion page should have your learning outcome.

• The last page is Bibliography (list of books referred and the websites which helped you work on the
project)

• Underline main and sub headings.

• Content should be presented neatly, avoid overwriting and cancellations.

• Material to be used:

• Use Inter leaf sheets to do the project. They should be neatly filed in a transparent file.

• Use black ball point pen for writing the project.


• Paste relevant pictures wherever necessary. Box them with a black pen. Write the source of the picture
and a short description about the picture.

• Topic for the project given below:

Choose a social reformer in India in the 19th century. Write about the social reforms introduced by
Him/Her and the impact of the reform movement in the society.

Write about:

 Introduction: Describe the 19th century Indian society before the reform movements. The need for

social and religious reform movements.

 Life of the Social Reformer you have chosen.

 What reform was brought about by him/her in the society? Discuss in detail.

 Impact of the reform movement.

 Conclusion: How significant was the reform movements in shaping our society today.
