ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

Fractions are well known to be difficult to learn especially for children in primary
school. Understanding difficulties in learning fractions seems absolutely crucial as they
can lead to mathematics anxiety, and affect opportunities for further engagement in
mathematics and science.

1. Search the internet for journal articles or related literature to identify problems
in the teaching and learning of fraction in elementary mathematics. Discuss
THREE of the main problems.

2. Gather information on teaching strategies to overcome of the identified


problems.

3. Suggest one activity for the teaching of fraction to primary mathematics pupils.

4. Provide justifications for your suggestions.

SOALAN TUGASAN

Pecahan diketahui sukar untuk dipelajari terutama untuk kanak-kanak di sekolah rendah.
Memahami kesulitan dalam mempelajari pecahan adalah sangat penting karena dapat
menyebabkan kerisauan matematik, dan mempengaruhi peluang untuk keterlibatan
lebih lanjut dalam matematik dan sains.

1. Laksanakan carian di Internet bagi artikel-artikel jurnal atau literatur berkaitan


untuk mengenalpasti masalah-masalah dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran
pecahan bagi matematik sekolah rendah. Bincangkan TIGA masalah utama.

2. Kumpulkan maklumat bagi strategi pengajaran untuk mengatasi masalah yang


dikenalpasti itu.

3. Cadangkan satu aktiviti bagi pengajaran pecahan kepada murid-murid sekolah
