Dear Parents and Guardians,

Attached to this letter is a copy of a newsletter that has been given to your students about “personal and

private information.” Technology is being used more in classrooms and outside of schools. Students have

more access to the internet than ever before. This allows students the opportunity to make accounts and

join communities such as social media or gaming accounts. Young students and teens are often the

targets of identity thieves and online predators. This makes it extremely important to discuss the

importance of private information. As educators and parents, we want each and every student to

understand the differences between personal and private information and the importance of keeping

private information private. Provided in the newsletter is information about what is personal and private

information as well as education videos for you and your student to watch. School staff and parents or

guardians need to work together to keep our students safe. Please feel free to contact me with any
