General guidelines for the tournament: -

1. The tournament is a Swiss format event which means that every player gets to play
all the rounds regardless of the result.

2. In case there are odd numbers of players, in every round any one player will
receivea bye point. A bye point is a free point. But no player can get more than one
bye point.

3. The time control includes a counterpart i.e., increment which means after every move
a player makes, additional time will be added in his total remaining time.

4. In the first round players will be paired in alphabetical order but in the following
rounds players will be paired according to their points.

5. Games might end in a draw in the following cases: -

1. Three-fold repetition (recurring position)
2. Perpetual checks (position tied in a never-ending cycle of checks)
3. Stalemate (a position where one side is unable to make a legal move and the king
is not in a check).
4. Acceptance of a draw offer.

6. In case of the same points, various tie-breaks will decide the final standing.
