Answer any Five out of Ten questions.
1. If f(𝑥) = log 𝑥 (0 < 𝑥 < 𝛼), what is the range of ‘f’ ?
2. Define least upper bound.
3. Define limit of a sequence.
4. Give an example for convergent and divergent sequence.
5. What is Alternating series?
6. Define absolute convergence
7. Define Riemann Integral.
8. Show that the function f(𝑥) = |𝑥| (-∞ < 𝑥 < ∞) does not have derivate
at zero.
9. State the law of mean.
10.State the first fundamental theorem of calculus.

PART – B (3 X 8 = 24 Marks)
Answer any Three out of Eight questions.
11. If A is the set of letters in the word “trivial” and B is the set of letters in
the word “ difficult”, find (i) A∪B (ii) A ∩B (iii) A-B (iv) B- A
12.Show that the set [0,1] is uncountable.
