SEMINAR-WORKSHOP ON FOOD SAFETY AND SANITATION

Description

This seminar-workshop aims to equip participants with the basic food

safety knowledge to enable them to work with food in a safe and hygienic
manner. It is to raise awareness on the fundamentals of sanitation and proper
handling in the food production as it is necessary since health of the
consumers must always be ensured in the food processing business. It can
protect customers from health risks like food poisoning, allergic reactions and
other health risks that could occur from eating contaminated food.

Overview
Coconut Tree is abundant in all barangays in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan, thus
every year they celebrate the “Coconut Festival”. Coconut is called “tree of life”
because of its many uses and every part of it has a given so much help to al
Sanchez Miranians that’s why they hold this celebration every year.

Food safety refers to handling, preparing and storing food in a way to best
reduce the risk of individuals becoming sick from foodborne illnesses. Since,
this place they usually manufactured food out of coconut. There’s need for
them to be equip with such seminar on food safety and sanitation and also on
proper handling of foods.

Giving the opportunity to share information to the residents would be of great

help to ensure the safety of consumers.

The conduct of the seminar-workshop will be on June , 2023 among the thirty
(30) residents of Daccal, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan.

Objectives:

1. Provides adequate knowledge on food safety and sanitation; and

2. Gives information on proper food handling.
