EMT 358 SEMESTER I SESSION 2019/2020

1.0 COURSE OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, student will achieve these CO’s;

CO1:
Ability to explain and apply the fundamental concept and principles of analog and digital
communication engineering in real world

CO2:
Ability to identify, formulate, and analyses complex engineering problems reaching substantiated
conclusions in principle of analog and digital communication using fundamental principles of
mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences

CO3:
Ability to perform effectively as individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams and in
multidisciplinary settings to solve analog and digital communication problems

2.0 SYNOPSIS

This course will cover all the basic principles and concepts of analog and digital
communication including the basic elements of communications, signal analysis, amplitude
modulation, angle modulations and digital modulations, as well as transmission channels and
medium. In addition, introductions to signal propagations and calculations of signal to noise
ratio are also introduced to relate the students with real world applications.
