Description

The REFCON Mobile app is an add-on monitoring solution for
REFCON that enables the user to collect reefer data easy and
fast to improve the efficiency of the crew in charge of
monitoring the reefer equipment on the site.
REFCON Mobile is installed on the reefer technicians cell
phone. Using reefer information from the REFCON system the
app will show all known reefers on the site (vessel or terminal)
divided into areas like bays or stacks indicating the specific
position of each individual reefer. From here the app will scan
the area for REFCON wireless compatible devices such as
REFCON Portable Modems or RMM-W Bluetooth Modems.
These devices will then send the latest available information
from the reefer to the REFCON Mobile where the collection
process can be monitored, and alarms reviewed by the
technician to evaluate further actions.
All information collected can be viewed at once if needed and
all alarms are listed with the full alarm text enabling the user
to react fast on critical alarms.
Operational performance is improved since the technician
will not need to walk by every single reefer to understand
the status of the units. Instead the technician only needs to
stand close to a bay or stack to remotely view the status of
all reefers within that area. Thereby limiting the distance
needed to cover the whole site and eliminating the need for
climbing on latter’s to view the status of reefers placed on
the top row.
REFCON Mobile in combination with
REFCON Wireless Hub
The REFCON Wireless hub is used as infrastructure on
vessels or terminals where continued monitoring is needed.
On these REFCON Mobile can be used to cover peak
season storage areas where no infrastructure is available or
in situations where the technician would like to check that
alarms are cleared, thus saving him a trip to the reefer or to
the REFCON workstation.
