FADE IN:
JIM
What are you doing here?
KATE
What does it matter to you?
JIM
It matters because you’re the one who betrayed me.
KATE
Betrayed you? You were the one who used your powers to steal from
innocent people.
JIM
I needed the money. It’s not like you’re any better. Using your
powers to cheat at cards.
KATE
That’s in the past. I’m trying to make up for my mistakes. What
are you doing?
JIM and KATE stare at each other for a moment, both unsure of
what to say next. Suddenly, they hear a commotion nearby.
JIM
There’s a heist happening at the museum!
KATE
We have to stop them.
CUT TO:
JIM
I’ll go in and read their minds to see if there are any hostages.
You keep an eye on the exits.
KATE
Fine. But don’t think for a second that I trust you.
KATE
I see them making their escape. There’s a van waiting outside.
JIM and KATE watch as the thieves exit the museum and run towards
the van.
KATE
I’ll create a distraction. You take them out.
JIM
Fine. But be careful.
KATE steps out hiding, causing a gust of wind to blow the thieves
off their feet. JIM takes advantage of the moment and knocks out
the thieves one by one.
CUT TO:
JIM
Looks like we make a great team.
KATE
Don’t get any ideas. I still don’t trust you.
JIM
Fair enough. But you have to admit, we make a pretty good duo.
KATE
I guess. But this doesn’t mean we’re friends.
JIM
Who said anything about being friends?
They share a smile, both knowing that they have a lot to learn
from each other.

FADE IN:
KATE
JIM, we have to go. The city is under attack.
JIM
How did you know?
KATE
Isn’t it obvious?
JIM
…What?
KATE
See?
JIM
Right… We have to do something. We can’t just sit here and watch
the city burn.
KATE
I agree. But what can we do? We don’t have any special powers
like MAX, he has the ability to use telekinesis.
JIM
We have something even better. You can see the future, and I can
read minds.
JIM and KATE rush into the chaos of the city, dodging debris and
avoiding panicked crowds.
JIM (whispering)
I don’t sense any guards, but HARRISON must have some sort of
trap set up.
KATE (nodding)
I see it too. Illusions covering the entrance.
JIM
We’ll have to use our powers to get past them.
JIM and KATE make their way through the warehouse, encountering a
few guards along the way. THey easily dispatch them with their
powers.
HARRISON (smiling)
Well, well. If it isn’t my two favorite psychics. I’ve been
waiting for you.
JIM
What do you want, HARRISON?
HARRISON
Oh, just the usual. Money, power, and control. But with your
powers, I could achieve so much more.
KATE (angrily)
We’ll never help you, HARRISON.
HARRISON (laughing)
Oh, I don’t need your help. I already have what I want.
KATE
What’s happening?
HARRISON
In fact, you’re talking to my illusions right now. See you next
time.
JIM
We have to get out of here. Now!
JIM and KATE emerge from the warehouse just in time to see the
city saved from destruction by MAX, who uses his powers to stop
the final bomb from detonating.
MAX
You guys are just in time to miss all the fun.
JIM
Looks like we missed all the action.
KATE
But we saved the city. And that’s all that matters.
MAX
Alright, I’ll be leaving now. See ya! Oh! By the way, I was
inviting someone to meet at the coffee shop and discuss some
other powers. Are you guys interested?
MAX
Alright!
