TECNOLOGÍA Y EDUCACIÓN
Robots will replace teachers

In my opinion, the robots won´t replace teachers because they are indispensable for
education. For example, if the students need to understand some contend of the class, the
robots won´t help them. However, holograms and robots will help teachers. They will be a
great tool to keep students engaged. Therefore, nowadays the new technology is improving
the learning process.

Students will learn more or in a better way if technology is implemented

I am convinced that the students will learn in a better way if technology is implemented. The
students will benefit from the technology´s progress, but it won´t be free. However, not all the
new technology is very expensive. Virtual reality is the cheapest new technology, and it is a
great tool to keep students engaged. (And) besides, if learners have access to virtual reality,
they will be learning more.

3D printers will be prohibited

In my opinion, 3D printers won´t be prohibited. However, 3D printers are less used than virtual
reality or interactive walls at university. Moreover, this technology is difficult to learn to use.
Therefore, simpler and more educational technologies, such as virtual reality, are more used
and motivating than other ones. However, 3D printers are very useful in some careers at
university, for instance, in medicine, architecture or engineering.

3D printers have more disadvantages than advantages

In my opinion, 3D printers have more advantages than disadvantages. In general, students

believe that 3D printers, holograms or V.R. can be a great tool to keep them engaged.
Although, these technologies are very expensive, they are useful to learn more and better.
What´s more, they allow new knowledge to be develop, so these technologies will help
students to have an interesting experience.

Learners will be more motivated if virtual reality is used in the classroom

I am convinced that if V.R. or other technology is used in the classroom, learners will be more
motivated. V.R. will help them to have an interesting experience. What’s more, interactive
walls, holograms or V.R. can be a great tool to keep their engaged. Moreover, students will
probably learn, see and understand the contents better than in a conventional class. That´s the
reason why today educators have to be updated with the new technologies. Education will be
more motivating if students and teachers learn how to use them.

Distance learning is the future of higher education

In my opinion, distance learning has more disadvantages than advantages, so it isn´t the future
of higher education. Although distance learning is very practical, students may not have the
necessary tools to be connected. I mean computers, internet, optic fiber, etc. What’s more,
V.R. is quite expensive, so not all the students won´t be able to have access to them. However,
I think that, in the future, distance learning could be a great option for students who need it.

In general, people think that change is good

That is probably true, the new technology motivates students to learn more. For example, if
one day it rains, the learners could take the class from their houses using V.R. or holograms.
However, the change is not always good. Although V.R. or Interactive walls are a great tool to
keep students engaged, also these technologies could be a distraction to learners. As all
changes have their difficulties, in my opinion, teachers and students have to get accustom to it,
as it is happening with zoom classes these days.

The cloud is the best resource to save your material

I convinced that the cloud is the best resource to save your material. The cloud allows you to
quickly save documents, photos, videos, etc. and the possibility of never losing it. Moreover,
the cloud protects the uploaded material with passwords and backups. What’s more, the
advantage of the cloud is that you have access to it whenever and wherever you want.

the next step for holography in education will be holographic telepresence

That is probably true. The holograms are transforming the style of teaching by creating an
interactive experience that benefits both students and teachers: the hologram technology is
poised to provide students with a better learning experience. Holograms and V.R. also helps
learners retain more information than traditional training methods. That technologies offer 3D
representations that facilitates a learning experience that’s far more effective than the
traditional textbook illustrations.

fingerprint scanning can become dangerous

Currently, fingerprint scanning recognition is a popular security barrier. However, this

technology can become dangerous because it is hack or spoof easily. therefore, it is preferable
to use other security methods, for example iris scanning or passwords.

what are the advantages and disadvantages of iris scanning?

advantages:

No physical contact when scanning (more sanitary).

it doesn’t change much as people age

Difficult to spoof.

disadvantages:

Can’t use a regular camera

Generally, require close proximity to camera

cloning will be used to replace dead pets

SEGUNDO PARCIAL

INTELLIGENCES AT WORK.
Which type/s of intelligence/s do you consider useful for your future profession?
Which ones, in your opinion, are not relevant enough?
The public relation manager is a professional who establishes contact and provides the
link between management and customers.
 I am studying the public relation career, and in my opinion, body smart is not
relevant enough to the profession, as we don’t need to know about the capacity to
manipulate objects and use a variety of physical skills. On the contrary, we use verbal
and nonverbal communication to express complex meanings because the company
and consumers are connected by public relation manager. However, if I were an
athlete, surely, I would be body smart.
 I am studying the public relation career, and I find it easy listen and respect the
opinions of others. I think it is important to be people smart because we must be good
dealing with other people. What’s more, the company and consumers are connected
by public relation manager. However, if I studied accounting or engineering, surely, I
would not have to be people smart.
What is your dominant type of intelligence? Why?
My dominant type of intelligences is interpersonal intelligence because I find it easy
listen and respect the opinions of others. I think it is important to be people smart
because we, the professionals, must be good dealing with other people. What’s more,
the company and consumers are connected by public relation manager. However, if I
studied accounting or engineering, surely, I would not have to be people smart.
Do people have only one type of intelligence?
I believe that people can be good in more than one category. People have different
abilities, for example, you can be good at math, but you are not interested in it and be
a successful musician because you have musical intelligence. What´s more, I am
convinced that intelligence can be developed if people discover new interests.
When it is said that somebody is very intelligent, which type of intelligence do
people commonly refer to?
Be someone very intelligent is associated by people with being good at math. It usually
happens that, if you get good grades, people will tell you that you are smart. That is, it
is associated with you have number smart. However, people can be good at other
tasks and that means they are smart too. For instances, I am studying the public
relation career and I have interpersonal intelligence. I am good at listening to other
people and I know about nonverbal communication. However, if I studied accounting
or engineering, I would have to be number smart.
Do you need to be number smart for your future profession?
I am studying the public relation career, and in my opinion, number smart is not
relevant enough to the profession, as we don’t need to know a lot about mathematics.
On the contrary, as professional, we must be people smart. We use the verbal and
nonverbal communication to express complex meanings because the company and
consumers are connected by public relation manager. However, if I were an
economist, surely, I would be number smart.
Do you need to be word smart for your future profession?
I am studying the public relation career, and I think it is important to be people smart
and word smart. As a professional, we must have the ability to think in words and use
language to express complex meanings, because the company and consumers are
connected by public relation manager. Moreover, I find it important listen and respect
the opinions of others. However, if I studied accounting or engineering, surely, I would
not have to be word or people smart.
“If a person has Logical-Mathematical Intelligence, he/she will always succeed at
work.”
I believe that people will be successful at work if they are smart. Precisely, logical-
mathematical intelligence is used to calculate and quantify. Therefore, people with
number smart, surely, will be successful accountants, engineers, mathematics
teachers, etc. However, I think they wouldn't be successful at work if they didn't like it.
“People who are born with a more developed logical-mathematical intelligence can’t
be socially intelligent”
I don’t think so; in my opinion, people who are born with a more developed logical-
mathematical intelligence can be socially intelligent. For example, a math teacher must
be good with numbers, but also socially intelligent. To deal with their students, the
opinions are not imposed, they must be given with respect. Therefore, I am convinced
that intelligence can be developed if people discover new interests.

SOCIALLY INTELLIGENCE
Do you consider yourself a socially intelligent person? / Do you have any habit of
socially intelligent people?
I consider myself a socially intelligent because I have the capacity to know myself and
to know others. Moreover, I never interrupt, on the contrary, I find it easy to listen to
others and wait my turn to speak. What´s more, the opinions are not imposed by me,
as I usually give my opinion with respect and confidence. However, if I studied
accounting or engineering, surely, I would not have to be socially intelligent.
Do you think it is important to be socially intelligent for your future work
environment? Why?
I am studying the public relation career, so I find it easy work with other people.  I
think that it is necessary to be a socially intelligent person because the company and
consumers are connected by public relation manager. Therefore, as a professional you
must listen to others and try not to interrupt them. Moreover, the opinions are not
imposed, they must be given with respect. However, if I studied accounting or
engineering, surely, I would not have to be socially intelligent.
What habits do socially intelligent people have?
I believe that, if you understood that you are not the center of the world, you would be
a socially intelligent person. The people socially intelligent have the capacity to know
themselves and to know others.  Moreover, the opinions are not imposed by them.
What´s more, they never interrupt, and find it easy to listen to others and wait their
turn to speak.
What is the most important habit socially intelligent people have?
I am studying the public relation career, so I consider that the most important habit
socially intelligent is never interrupt because the company and consumers are
connected by public relation manager. Therefore, as a professional you must listen to
others and try not to interrupt them.  Moreover, the opinions are not imposed, they
must be given with respect. However, If I studied physical education or engineering,
surely, I would choose another habit.
People are considered socially intelligent if they defend their point of view although
they know they are wrong.
I don’t agree with this. In my opinion, people are considered socially intelligent if they
admit they are wrong because the opinions are not imposed by them. Moreover, the
people socially intelligent understand that they aren’t the center of the world. And
they have the capacity to know themselves and to know others.  What´s more, they
never interrupt, and find it easy to listen to others and wait their turn to speak.
 WORKING ENVIRONMENTS

Where would you like to work? Why? / Would you like to work in a
company/factory/on your own/from home?
I am studying the public relation career and I would like to work in the multinational
company as I would acquire a lot of experience and prestige. Moreover, I would find
the work interesting because the company and consumers are connected by public
relation manager, so there would always be new projects to solve. What’s more, I
convinced that, if you do a good job, you always have the chance to grow
professionally.
In your opinion what is the best work environment? Why?
In my opinion, the best work environment is “The open skeptic environment” because
if everything is questioned, you would have the opportunity to grow as a professional.
Moreover, I love the brain-storming sessions at work as they boost creativity.  Also, if
all ideas are considered equally, I would find the work interesting.
In your opinion what is the worst work environment? Why?
In my opinion, the worst work environment is “The 9-to-5 environment” because it
describes a strict environment. I mean, describes working hours, strict dress codes,
strict protocol. Moreover, if workers are discouraged by the strict rules, they would
not find the work interesting.  Therefore, rules can promote order, but also take that
may restrict the creativity from workers.
which is the best characteristic of a workplace
In my opinion, the best work environment is the individual-focused environment as it
allows employees to have their own working styles and the offices respect them.
Therefore, if workers are respected, they will find the job interesting . Moreover, they
may be allowed to work from home or may have flexible hours. I believe, the best
characteristic is that everyone works with a common goal. Even if I worked in this work
environment, I would grow as a professional because I would listen to the opinions of
others.

The no-walls environment allows to keep the team together. Due to the absence of the
offices, employees can talk freely with one another. Moreover, if workers are listened
to, they will find the job interesting . Therefore, this type of environment work can
keep employees motivated. Even if I worked in this work environment, I would grow as
a professional because I would respect the opinions of others.

The mutual-feedback environment favors honest feedback. In this type of

environment, employees are always informed. Moreover, good communication
between employees is necessary for any job. Therefore, if workers are respected and
listened to, they will find the job interesting. Even if I worked in this work environment,
I would grow as a professional because I would respect the opinions of others.
The unified environment allows employees to work in smaller groups to accomplish
team tasks.
This type of environment work employees are focused on working together, have a
common goal, and are responsible for the quality of their work. Therefore, if workers
are respected and listened to, they will find the job interesting . Even if I worked in this
work environment, I would grow as a professional because I would respect the
opinions of others.

which is the worst characteristic of a workplace

The compartment environment doesn’t allow employees to grow and change.
Moreover, it's a negative environment that forces individuals to separate from the
group. Employees feel isolated and unmotivated, and if workers are discouraged, they
would not find the work interesting.   Even if I worked in this work environment, I
would not grow as a professional because I would not feel free and motivated.

In the sink-or-swim environment the failure is unacceptable, and it doesn’t allow

employees to learn from their mistakes or recognize that despite reaching a goal, their
process could be improved. if workers are frustrated, they would not find the work
interesting. Even if I worked in this work environment, I would not grow as a
professional because I would not feel free and motivated.

The punitive environment doesn´t reward achievements or good behavior. However,

Employees are penalized if they do something wrong. Moreover, if workers are
frustrated and unmotivated, they would not find the work interesting. Even if I worked
in this work environment, I would not grow as a professional because I would not feel
free and motivated.

In the class-system environment bosses can’t be questioned and employees must do

whatever they are told. Moreover, employees would not find the work interesting as
this type of environment loses focus on ideas and productivity. Even if I worked in this
work environment, I would not grow as a professional because I would not feel free
and motivated.

The environment in the maquila was not bad. Do you agree? / The maquila had a
punitive environment. Do you agree?
In my opinion, the maquila had a punitive environment, I mean a bad environment,
because in the story, Señor Costas got angry when Miguelito fell asleep. The punitive
environment does not reward achievements or good behavior. However, Employees
are penalized if they do something wrong. I think, if I worked in this work environment,
I I would not feel free and motivated so I would not grow as a professional.
“People who are not people smart can’t be good at teaching”
I don’t think so; in my opinion, to teach it is necessary that you like what you want to
teach. For example, a math teacher is good with numbers, I mean he is number smart,
but he may not be people smart. However, he deals with his students, the opinions are
not imposed, they must be given with respect. Therefore, I am convinced that
intelligence can be developed if people discover new interests.

How would you react if you had a bothersome colleague at work?

Mr Costas was an empathetic employer.
Miguel’s parents were abusive people.
Children shouldn’t work at all, which includes doing household chores.
The exam was not effective to select the right candidate. Do you agree?
I always pay close attention to teachers during exams. Is this true for you?
I really like tricky exams. Do you agree?
The girl’s plan was a good solution to the problem. Do you agree?
If my boss invited me to have a drink, I would not accept the invitation. Do you agree?
In co-working spaces, it is not usual to find people like Dude. Do you agree?

“People who are socially intelligent find it easy to get the job of his/her dreams”
“If you are not socially intelligent you will not be able to work in groups, but you can be the
leader”
If people knew how to use their voices in conversations, they would get along better with
others.
Tricky examinations are useless because they cannot really show how intelligent a person is

“If a person is Picture Smart but not People Smart, he /she will be an excellent architect”
“If a person is Body Smart but not Word Smart, he /she will be an excellent physical education
teacher”
