ETHICAL
CONSUMERISM

It is a type of consumer activism

that its practiced through “positive
buying”in ethical products are
favored
The term "ethical consumer", now
used, was first popularized by the
UK magazine the “Ethical
Consumer”, first published in 1989
WHAT IS ETHICAL
CONSUMPTION?
Ethical Consumption is about making
the connections between a product,
where that product originated and in
what context it has been produced.

An ethically-informed consumer
realises that when they buy
something, they are not only buying
the product.
WHY BOTHER?
IN OUR ROLE AS CONSUMERS OF GOODS
AND SERVICES, WE ARE ESSENTIALLY
VOTING (MAKING CHOICES) WITH OUR
POCKETS.

EACH TIME WE MAKE A PURCHASE, WE ARE

CONTRIBUTING TOWARDS A COMPANY’S
PROFITS AND THE PROMOTING FAIR AND
SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES IN PRODUCTION
AND DISTRIBUTION
ETHICAL CONSUMERS
ARE THE FUTURE

Whether you’re a homebody or

love to explore, ethical
consumption is the only choice for
those wishing to promote a
healthy and sustainable future for
our planet
