D. Physical description
Mother board
The mother board is a Printed Circuit Board linking all the main components of the
equipment. The connection system of all those components, take place on 6 rigid
areas.
Those areas are linked by the means of embedded flexible board.

Equipped regulator
The equipped regulator is a MOSFET switching element fitted on a specific
cooler. It’s connected with mother board by the means of three pods (“S”, “G” and
“D”).
c) High power sub-parts
Generality
In the high power level sub-part, the following main components take place:
-Power relays
-Current sensor & current sensor wiring
-External fuse
Power relays
The power relays are single normally open switching element allowing to cut high
power S/G intensity. Those elements are fitted on the two lower bottom insulating
sockets. The electrical power connection is made by the means of “m8” screws.
The electrical low power connection is made by the means of an embedded wiring
ended by a 10 points connector. This connection goes directly to the mother
board.
Current sensor & wiring
The current sensor works with Hall Effect Technology. It’s fitted on the “B” and “C”
contactor by the means of three screws. They allow to check current flowing in the
associated contactor’s main contact. The electrical low power connection is made
by the means of a separated wiring ended by a 10 points connector on one side

and a 9 points connector on the other side. This connection goes directly to the
mother board.
External fuses
Those elements are located on the two upper insulated sockets.
They are fitted by the means of two “m8” gudgeons. They allow to supply and
protect high consumer units.
2) Breaker panel
The CKB pin is the main supply of the breaker panel. It’s fitted on a copper bus bar
named “breaker primary bus bar”. This bus bar allows to distribute the primary bus
potential to all the breakers lines.
The link from the “breaker primary bus bar” to each breaker is made through flexible
connection equipped with flag terminals.
Breaker used on the breaker panel runs with thermal technology.
Each of the breaker outputs is sent to one of the “bJ1” to “bJ4” connectors’ pin through
a discrete wiring.
Each wiring strand is mechanically protected using a spiral sleeve.

This section aims to describe the internal power supply of the EMB where 3 main points
are defined.
The “S/G excitation backup point” feeds the generator’s excitation coil. Its supplies are :
-Generator voltage through UPOR POWER wiring, CM308 filter and backup diode D2.
-GPU auxiliary power supply. This supply is fused by F2.
-Battery supply when “BAT/EPU_CONJ_rq” cockpit switch is read to on. This supply is
fused by F1.
The “Contactor backup point” feeds some contactors’ coil hot point. Its supplies are:
-“S/G excitation backup point” when excitation relay is on.
-GPU auxiliary power supply. This supply is fused by F2.
-Battery supply when “BAT/EPU_CONJ_rq” cockpit switch is read to on. This supply is
fused by F1.
The “Daughter board backup point” feeds logic and regulation boards hot point power
supply. Its supplies are :
-“ Contactor backup point ” .
-GPU auxiliary power supply. This supply is fused by F2.
-Battery supply when “BAT/EPU_CONJ_rq” cockpit switch is read to on. This supply is
fused by F1.
Each of the DB owns in their “internal power supply” blocks (RB200 or CL613) a cell
improving spikes suppression. The new DB’s P/N owns a modified spike suppression
cell.
The figures also describe all the cockpit switches output
A dome light output is available on EMB’s connector J3 pin 45. This output is supplied
directly by BAT input terminal C whichever BAT/EPU_CONJ_rq status through D4 diod.
It’s fused by motherboard’s internal F5 fuse. This point is also supplied excitation power
supply (when both B power relay command and excitation relay are on) though D5
diod. A third supply point (S/G excitation backup point) is added on this output. Even if
the schematic is the same between each of the EMB, the new mother boards P/N owns
improved routing capability for the dome light.
2) Battery conjunction on H/C network
See figure 10: BAT conjunction’s conditions
To improve the H/C supply by battery, the EMB must read all the following conditions to
close BAT contactor (connector J8 of MB block CM301).
Page 17

COMPONENT MAINTENANCE MANUAL
EMB : SE07113, SE13543 ; BP : SE07238, SE07242, SE13451
Two main terms take place in the conjunctions equation. “MOSC” output is active when
“VALID” is active and “CLAMPING” is inactive. “
VALID ” and “ CLAMPING ” are described hereafter.
VALID BATON: BAT/EPU_CONJ_rq is read to on position (cockpit command) And
!DUP : Internal EMB switch is polarized in MONO. And !(EPLCw & UEPU>12) : GPU
contactor is read to switched off or potential on GPU H/C plug is read less than 12V.
CLAMPING
Always inactive
This above equation doesn’t take into account source and/or network failure (see fig. 18
and 17).
The logical command is made by logic board. The input potential adaptations are made
by blocks CL503, CL512, CL514, CL605 & CL608).
The equation is managed by logic control unit (CL704). The power interface to drive the
power relay is made by CL313 and RB305
3) GPU conjunction on H/C network
See figure 11: GPU conjunction’s conditions
This power supply has priority and is sole when other source are plugged and available.
To improve the H/C supply by GPU, the EMB must read all the following conditions to
close GPU contactor (connector J15 of MB block CM306).
Two main terms take place in the conjunctions equation. “MOSH” output is active when
“VALID” is active and “CLAMPING” is inactive. “
VALID ” and “ CLAMPING ” are described here after.
“ VALID ” is active when :
BATON: BAT/EPU_CONJ_rq cockpit switch is read to on status. And (UEPU>12):
Potential read on auxiliary point of GPU plug is greater than 12V.
“ CLAMPING ” is active when :
!EPLC : GPU contactor isn’t engaged yet. And OVVEPU: Potential read on auxiliary
point of GPUplug is greater than 32V.
This above equation doesn’t take into account source and/or network failure (see fig. 18
and 17).
The logical command is made by logic board. The logical equation is managed by logic
control unit (CL704). The power interface to drive the power relay is made by CL318
and RB305

d) S/G current monitoring
The GENE Hall Effect Current Sensor sends to the regulation board information
about current flowing through EMB’s B terminal.
This information is translated and buffered through block RB402. It could be sent
to the cockpit through twisted paired shielded wire with:
-Cold point on J2.38
-Hot point on J2.19
-Shield on J2.58
The variation law is:
UIGENEmon (Volt)= 5.5 + IGENE (Amps) / 100
Where
UIGENEmon is potential between output’s hot point and cold point.
IGENE is the current flowing in EMB’s terminal B (positive when entering in EMB).
e) Battery current monitoring
The BAT Hall Effect Current Sensor sends to the regulation board information
about current flowing through EMB’s terminal C.
This information is translated and buffered through block RB403. It could be sent
to the cockpit through twisted paired shielded wire with:
-Cold point on J2.36
-Hot point on J2.17
-Shield on J2.56
The variation law is:
UIBATmon (Volt)= 5.5 + IBAT (Amps) / 100
Where
UIBATmon is potential between output’s hot point and cold point. IBAT is the
current flowing in EMB’s terminal C (positive when entering in EMB).
f) Primary bus bar potential monitoring
The primary bus bar potential is internally sensed through discrete wiring on EMB.
This potential is computed and buffered through regulation board block RB401.
Two outputs are available. They could be sent to the cockpit through twisted
paired shielded wires with:
-Cold point 1 on J2.39
-Hot point 1 on J2.20
-Shield 1 on J2.59
-Cold point 2 on J2.37

-Hot point 2 on J2.18
-Shield 2 on J2.57
The variation law is :
-Ubus1 mon (V)= 9/32 * UPRIMBUS (V)+ 1
-Ubus2 mon (V)= 9/32 * UPRIMBUS (V)+ 1
Where
Ubus1 mon /Ubus2 mon is potential between output’s hot point and cold point.
UPRIMBUS is the primary bus potential.
g) BAT temperature monitoring.
A Negative Temperature Coefficient resistor is set on battery. It’s linked to the
EMB through points J3.9 and J3.10. The resistor value is read and computed by

5) Starting function
See figure 13: START conjunction’s conditions
To improve the starting phase, the EMB must read all the following conditions to close
START contactor (connector J6 of MB block CM300).
Two main terms take place in the conjunctions equation. “MOSA” output is active when
“VALID” is active and “CLAMPING” is inactive. “
VALID ” and “ CLAMPING ” are described hereafter.
“ VALID ” is active when :
STARTsw: GENE_START_rq cockpit switch is read to on status.
Or
(!DUP & EPLCw & UEPU ) : EMB is polarized in single generation system (ok in those
version) and GPU power relay is engaged and potential read on auxiliary point of GPU
plug is greater than 12V (case of starting phase on GPU)
Or
(!DUP & BACw) : EMB is polarized in single generation system (ok in those version)
and BAT power relay is engaged (case of starting phase on battery)
“ CLAMPING ” is active when :
GLCw: GENE contactor is engaged (avoid starting when engine already started)
Or
(UPOR>18 & !SCw) : Potential read on GENE POR point is greater than 18V and
START contactor isn’t engaged (avoid starting when engine already started)
Neither memorized source nor network failures protection take place in the equation.
The logical command is made by logic board. The logical equation is managed by logic
control unit (CL704). The power interface to drive the power relay is made by CL311
and RB305.
EMB equipped with RB former P/N:
See also fig 14
-During all the starting phase, regulator command’s output (RB302) is set to HZ state.
This cause the main regulator CM106 also in HZ. Then, the S/G’s excitation coil isn’t
supplied.

-This new RB P/N owns a special circuit generating a beginning of field weakening
phase during the first time when START contactor is engaged.
When START contactor is engaged, regulation board detects the START contactor
engagement by the mean of RB311. Block RB311 then gives to RB302 an order to set
excitation in full conduction during a time about 25ms. This pulse will provoke through
motherboard’s circuits CM106, CM107 & CM104 a short-circuit on the S/G excitation
coil. At the end of this pulse, the regulator is set to HZ during all the time START
contactor is engaged
6) S/G voltage regulation
See figure 14 and figure 22: S/G voltage regulation schematics
The S/G generation mode is separated excitation. The regulator mode is Pulse Width
Modulation with 4 kHz frequency. The regulation function is made on the regulation
board.
The UPOR signal is got at m8 “B” terminal. This signal is filtered (CM311) and directly
displayed on the 2mm plugs of the mother board “UPOR setting” area (CM401). This
signal is sent to the regulation board where it’s first amplified (RB100).
The regulation’s order is given by the block CM404. The P1 potentiometer located on
the mother board “UPOR setting area” allows customer to move POR voltage from
25V±1V to 30V±1V. This order is sent to the regulation board where block RB102
amplifies the order level.
When doing UPOR adjustment, customer shall pay attention to the load on UPOR
plugs. To have an accuracy better than 1%, this load shall exceed 1MΩ.
Block RB300 subtracts the PORn and the POTn level. This is the proportional effect of
the regulation. This result is filtered by the R106-C40 cell. This is the integral part of the
regulation.
An oscillator based on a RC timer (RB303) gives a sawtooth signal.
This signal is compared on block RB301 with the output of the RB300 to improve the
Pulse Width Modulation. The duty cycle of the “PWM CD” signal varies with the level of
the “error” signal.
This signal is then sent to the equipped regulator which allows to alternately switch on
and off the power supply to the S/G excitation coil through a filter (CM104).
The block RB304 allows to permanently supply the excitation coil with a duty cycle min.
of 5%.
The way “limitation” allows to stop the regulation in case of engine starting and/or
engine not running.
On new RB P/N (see fig. 22), a “full excit. pulse” block is added. When SCW is seen
on, a full excit. command is sent to equipped regulator. This fixed time (some tens ms)

pulse permit decreasing overvoltage level sent back from S/G to master box at the very
beginning of starting phase.
7) S/G conjunction on H/C network
See figure 15: S/G conjunction’s conditions
To improve the H/C supply by generator, the EMB must read all the following conditions
to close GENE contactor (connector J7 of MB block CM302).
Two main terms take place in the conjunctions equation. “MOSB” output is active when
“VALID” is active and “CLAMPING” is inactive. “
VALID ” and “ CLAMPING ” are described hereafter.
“ VALID ” is active when :
GLCw : GENE contactor is already active.
Or
(UPOR>18 & UPORBUS) : Potential generated by S/G is greater than 18V to one hand
and greater than the bus bar potential (induced by source already conjuncted when
starting) on the other hand. These conditions are active when generator is at the end of
starting phase (S/G speed exceeding 5500 rpm).
“ CLAMPING ” is active when :
EPLCw # UEPU>12 : GPU contactor is engaged or potential on auxiliary GPU input is
read as greater as 12V.
Or
(RiGLC) : Current read on the GENE current sensor is read as flowing to the generator.
Or
!GLCw & (STARTsw # SC) : GENE contactor isn’t engaged yet and GENE_START_rq
switch is active or START contactor is engaged.
This above equation doesn’t take into account neither source nor network failure (see
fig. 18).
The logical command is made by logic board. The logical equation is managed by logic
control unit (CL704)
8) Memorized protection
a) Memorized protections action on power relay
This section describes all the memorized protections detected on network.
Those memorized protection events are described with the variable “FAILURE”.
Page 24

(F9543)
COMPONENT MAINTENANCE MANUAL
EMB : SE07113, SE13543 ; BP : SE07238, SE07242, SE13451
When one of this event happens, the contactor is commanded to “off” even if the
condition disappear. The contactor is switched “on” as soon as the “RESET”
condition appear.
Those memorized “FAILURE” and “RESET” conditions have the priority on the
combinatorial events (“VALID” and “CLAMPING”) described in the previous
chapters. Yet, the conditions to switch on the contactor are to get both
combinatorial and memorized events available.
b) S/G voltage compliance watching.
See figure 16: S/G compliance watching
The overvoltage detection allows to detect an eventual failure of the UPOR
regulation. It aims to cut both the S/G excitation supply and the generator
contactor as soon as the UPOR level reachs over the value indicated by the
prEN2282 standard. The UPOR is continuously read on the “sense” wire from the
EMB terminal B and filtered (CM311) on the mother board. This value is sent to
the logic bard where it’s first normalized (CM400). When no self test is required,
relay Rel1 of CL406 is off.
The UPOR is sent to two circuitries:
The first way (block CL404) allows to detect the high level overvoltage (more than
60V). When this event happens, this block immediately sends an active level on
logic control unit (CL704) “IOVGEN” input.
The second way (blocks CL407, CL408) allows to detect the low level overvoltage
(between 32V to 60V). The prEN2282 standard authorizes overvoltages duration
depending on the overvoltage delay. For example, an overvoltage of 45V is
allowed during a time less than 180ms. Another example, an overvoltage of 33V
is allowed during a time less than 770ms.To improve this voltage dependant
delay, the UPOR level is compared (on U13D circuit) with a threshold induced by
a capacitor discharge. This discharge is allowed as soon as UPOR level reaches
32V (on U13C circuit). This discharge is made through a varying number of
resistances (R139, R150, R154, R168, R176). This variation allows to improve a
multiple slope as described in the “curve1” of figure 9. As soon as the UPOR
reaches the “curve1” level, an active level is sent on logic control unit (CL704)
“TOVGEN” input.
When “TOVGEN” or “IOVGEN” input is activated, the “LOGIC CONTROL UNIT”
send an active level on OVVGEN level which activates the CL610 block. This
information is transmitted to the regulation board blocks RB210, RB209 and
RB208 (page 2) to finally switch off the CM105 latching relay. This relay cuts the
S/G excitation relay supply.
Concurrently to the excitation relay command, the “LOGIC CONTROL UNIT”
sends an off level on the “MOSB” line to improve the off command on the
generator contactor.
The test functions will be described hereafter in the document.
c) Bus bar failure detection
Page 25

COMPONENT MAINTENANCE MANUAL
EMB : SE07113, SE13543 ; BP : SE07238, SE07242, SE13451
The EMB detects failures on Primary Bus Bar through two sensors:
Current sensor BAT: This sensor is located on the battery contactor. It allows to
sense the intensity entering in the EMB through the “C” terminal. This sensor is
fed by regulation board. It gives a 5.5V potential when no current reach over
terminal “C” . This potential varies with a linear law and slope factor of 1V -> 100
Amps. The interface sensor/mother board is made through the mother board
CM310.
Ueq : This potential is given by S/G. It gives an image of the intensity generated
by S/G. This potential is negative (when current is generated by S/G). The
variation law is linear. The slope factor depends on S/G type and on temperature.
The interface “Ueq” / mother board is made through the connector J1 pin 46.
Battery over current detection.
The potential of BAT current sensor is first filtered on blocks CM310 and CL100.
In a second hand, the block CL100 amplifies and translates the signal to improve
a signal with a slope rate of 1V for 50 Amps and a zero tension when zero current
is reached.
The block CL207 first realize an absolute value function to detect both over
current going out or in the EMB. The CL207 realizes the comparison of the level
read with the threshold of 400 Amps. The signal is then adapted to logical levels.
S/G over current detection.
The “Ueq” signal is first normalized on the “regulation board”. The amplification
rate varies with the S/G fitted on H/C. If the H/C’s S/G capability is 160 Amps or
200 Amps, the customer must realize the link between connector J2 pin 1 and pin
2. If the H/C’s S/G capability is 150 Amps, no link shall take place between
connector J2 pin 1 and pin 2.
The RB112 read this keying status. According to the lack or presence of this link,
the U10B amplifier function is modified by adding or not R6 resistor in parallel of
R8.
The signal is then sent to logic board where block CL105 amplifies the signal to
produce a signal with a slope rate of 1V for 50 Amps and a zero tension when
zero current is generated.
The block CL106 realizes an absolute value function. The block CL108 makes a
threshold of 1.75 * “In” where “In” is the S/G’s intensity capability (150 Amps or
200 Amps).
The block CL107 compares the image of the S/G current and the above level.
Primary bus failure detection
Variable BARFAIL is a intermediate state. It describes the failure detection.
BARFAIL = !(SCw # STARTsw) : BARFAIL is inhibited when start runs
(START contactor is read switched on) or when start is requested
(GENE_START_rq cockpit switch is read switched on).

{(OVIGEN & GLCw) : BARFAIL is active when OVIGEN is detected and GENE
contactor is read to on.
Or
(!DUP & OVIBAT & BATCw) : BARFAIL is active when OVIBAT is detected and
BAT contactor is read to on and EMB is polarised on MONO version.}
Failure’s level detection
If the failure induces on the primary bus bar a potential greater than 12V, the
BARFAIL signal is delayed of 80ms. In this case, the signal L_BARFAIL (low level
bus bar failure) is activated and H_BARFAIL is let inactive.
If the failure induces on the primary bus bar a potential less than 12V, the
BARFAIL signal isn’t delayed. In this case, the signal H_BARFAIL (high level bus
bar failure) is activated and L_BARFAIL is let inactive.
The signal H_BARFAIL can be activated by test pushbutton (internal test will be
described hereafter).
d) BAT contactor memorized protection
See figure 18: “BAT” and “GPU” protections
“FAILURE” conditions:
!DUP : The EMB master box shall be set in single generation mode. This
polarization is realized only on factory.
And
!(STARTsw # SCw) : FAILURE is inhibited when start runs (START contactor is
read switched on) or when start is requested (GENE_START_rq cockpit switch is
read switched on).
And
{ H_BARFAIL
Or
L_BARFAIL}
“RESET” conditions:
RSTBAT: The RSTBAT signal is a logical “or” condition between a on status read
on the BAT/EPU_RST_rq cockpit switch and a off/on sequence on the
BAT/EPU_CONJ_rq cockpit switch

“RESET” conditions:

And
!UEPU>12 : A potential less than 12V is read on the GPU auxiliary pin.
f) S/G memorized protection
A double protection is active on the S/G source:
De-conjunction: The S/G could be insulated from the network by switching off the
GENE contactor.
De-excitation: The S/G should be set inactive when major problem happens. This
protection cuts (through excitation relay) the regulation supply. The S/G potential
is then set to 0V.
Failure sensors.
The EMB detects failures in relation with S/G through three sensors:
Current sensor GENE: This sensor is located on the GENE contactor. It allows to
sense the intensity entering in the EMB through the “B” terminal. This sensor is
fed by regulation board. It gives a 5.5V potential when no current reaches over
terminal “B”. This potential varies with a linear law and slope factor of 1V -> 100
Amps. The interface sensor/mother board is made through the mother board’s
block CM309.
Upor : The POR potential is continuously watched through the UPOR sense
wiring (see Figure 3).

See figure 19: “GENE” contactor memorized protection.
This function allows to detect an eventual short-circuit on the GENE feeder
(between S/G generation coil and EMB’s term. B).This detection is led by
comparison of current values read on “Ueq” with GENE current sensor.
The GENE current sensor signal is filtered, translate and amplified (CM309,
CL100) to produce a signal with a slope rate of 1V for 50 Amps and a zero
tension when zero current reaches through term. B.
The block CL103 subtracts “Ueq” image from the GENE current sensor image.
When the result of this subtraction is greater than 120 Amps, the DPGEN signal is
activated.
Block CL101 allows the inhibition of the DPGEN when the current flowing through
terminal B reaches over 400 Amps.
This signal is also inhibited through gate U7B when start runs or when start is
requested.
S/G de-conjunction conditions.
See figure 19: “GENE” contactor memorized protection.
“FAILURE” conditions:
IOVGEN: Upor potential reach over 60V.
Or
TOVGEN : Upor potential reach over 32V.
Or
[!(STARTsw # SCw) : Intensity FAILURE is inhibited when start runs (START
contactor is read switched on) or when start is requested (GENE_START_rq
cockpit switch is read switched on).
And
{!DPGEN : Feeder GENE protection is active.
Or

improve high power fuse cut in case of short-circuit after those protection
devices.}

The excitation relay included in the mother board block CM105 is a latching relay.
That is to say that it always memorizes the last event (switch on or switch off)
happened.
The de-excitation conditions are:
S/G over-voltage: On figure 19, the block CL610 sends to RB a logical or between
TOVGEN and IOVGEN. On figure 20, through blocks RB213, RB214, RB209 and
RB208, a pulse is sent to the latching relay Rel1.
Or
S/G DPGEN: On figure 18, the block CL110 sends to a ground level when
DPGEN is activated. On figure 20, through blocks RB212, RB214, RB209 and
RB208, a pulse is sent to the latching relay Rel1 “off” coil. To improve DPGEN
detection with very high short circuit level, this pulse is repeated through D15
diode.
Or
S/G OVER CURRENT: On figure 19, the block CL109 sends to a ground level
when DEL_OVIGEN is activated. This signal is the same than the signal OVIGEN
with an actuation delay of 5s. On figure 20, through blocks RB211, RB214, RB209
and RB208, a pulse is sent to the latching relay Rel1 “off” coil.
Or
S/G over excitation detection: See figure 20.The average excitation potential sent
to the S/G excitation coil is sensed.
This potential is sent to the REGULATION BOARD. Blocks RB213 and RB214
allow to detect a failure when this potential reaches over 38V. This event, through
blocks RB211, RB214, RB209 and RB208, send a pulse to the latching relay Rel1
“off” coil.
The excitation conditions are:
STARTCOND: On figure 19, the block CL308 sends to RB a ground level when
start runs (START contactor is read switched on) or when start is requested
(GENE_START_rq cockpit switch is read switched on). On figure 20, through
blocks RB205, RB204 and RB203, a pulse is sent to the latching relay Rel1 “on”
coil.
Or
GENE ON: On figure 20, through blocks RB205, RB204 and RB203, a pulse is
sent to the latching relay Rel1 “on” coil when a off/on sequence is read on
GENE_CONJ_rq switch.
Or
GENE_START: On figure 20, through blocks RB206, RB204 and RB203, a pulse
is sent to the latching relay Rel1 “on” coil when a GENE_START_rq switch is read
on. This signal is also directly sent from switch to Rel1 through diode D9.

a) Impact on overvoltage function
See figure 16: S/G compliance watching
When “TEST pushbutton” is activated, the logic board (CL401 & CL404) first
checks test availability (test available if UPOR less than 18V). If test available,
CL406 Rel1 is switched on to send test levels on blocks TOVGEN and IOVGEN
detection. Those test level are 35V for TOVGEN and 65V for IOVGEN. The
LOGIC CONTROL UNIT” switches off both the excitation relay and the generator
contactor.
On new LB’s P/N, a diode is added on Rel1’s coil to improve M16 reliability.
The test display first sends a 1s pulse to improve the test led failure detection.
The led command is realized through blocks CL309 and CM400.
The Logic and Control Unit makes a 1s pause signal. The test is declared “ok”
when each of the following events are met :
-IOVGEN is read active by LCU.
-TOVGEN is read active by LCU.
-REXCOFF is read active by LCU.
b) Impact on current detection
See figure 17: Primary Bus failure detection
See figure 18: “BAT” and “GPU” memorized protection.
The self test improves also the off command of the BAT and/or EPU contactor. A
false H_BARFAIL is generated when BPTST is read active by the Logic and
Control Unit. This event implies that EMB’s mother board test pushbutton is
activated and that UPOR is read less than 18V (blocks CL400, CL402, CL403,
CL606).
This test implies that the GPU and BAT contactors received a failure order. The
active contactor is then switched off while the inactive one is receiving a FAILURE
order. All the H/C supplies are then switched off.
c) Test reset
All the GPU, BAT and GENE contactors have received during test a FAILURE
order. They must be resetted :
By switching off and on all the power supplies
or
By resetting one after the other all the sources’ contactors following previous
chapters.

It is included if necessary.
D. Numerical Index (NI)
In this index, part numbers are classified in the order described below.
Classification is made from left to right, each digit (letter, numeral, dash) being
considered separately.
The order of characters in the first left hand row ordering is:
− dash
− letter from A to Z (except for the letters “O” and “I” which are considered as zero and
one)
− a numeral from 0 to 9.
The part number column contains all part numbers included in the Detailed Parts List.

F. Updating
General
When an item is revised, added or deleted, the letter “R” is shown in the right-hand
margin (and the date of issue changes).
Added Items
The basic sequence of the items given from 10 to 10 makes it possible to incorporate
new items between the old ones in the appropriate order of the breakdown. With the
incorporation of more than nine new items, a new figure is to be appended at the end of
the IPL.
Deleted Items
Should a part number is deleted definitively; the information given in the parts list zone
is deleted. The old part number always remains listed in the numerical index.
New Figures Added
Whenever new illustrations are necessary, the alternative figures are inserted. They
refer to the same parts list.
The alternative figure is assigned the basic figure number and a letter. This letter
precedes the item number in the parts list.
