I. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
One of the thrusts of the Department of Education (DepEd) is to strengthen and intensify the
implementation of the Income Generating Project (IGP) in all public elementary and secondary
schools. As today’s educational system faces unexpected circumstances where face to face learning is
highly discouraged due to brought COVID-19 threats, conducting of income generating project is now
a trend to teachers, as well as the cooperative beneficiaries where parents are the one to help or assist
the teacher to carry out the identified project.
Rizal Con. Elementary School is one of the schools of Lubao North District who has a
number of struggling readers during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the reading program results,
the EGRA and PHILIRI, there were 19 learners who were identified under frustration level. Problems
in reading is considered as one of the major problems of the department that needs to be addressed at
the school level through crafting and formulating innovations as intervention programs. In order to
decrease the identified number of struggling readers, one of its interventions is to print / reproduce
reading materials as concrete support to the existing reading program of the school wherein these said
materials will be used by pupils to enhance their reading and comprehension skills. Due to the limited
resources of the school, the proponent thought of an income generating, the PROJECT EBUN
BURO which means “Everyone Brings Unreserved and Nurturing Backup to Unfold Reading
Opportunities”.
Aside from generating funds, one of the targets of this IGP is to enhance learners’ and parent’s
knowledge on one of the Most Efficient Learning Competency in EPP/TLE which is Food
Preservation. With this project, participants will learn the uses the tools/utensils and equipment and
their substitutes in food preservation/ processing, preserves food applying principles and skills in food
preservation processing, assesses preserved/processed food as to the quality using the rubrics and

markets preserved/processed food in varied/ creative ways with pride which can be seen on week 6,7
and 8 of the MELCs in EPP/TLE.
Salted Egg – also known as Ebun Buro is an Asian preserved food product made by soaking
duck eggs in brine, or packing each egg in damp, salted charcoal. In Asian supermarkets, these eggs
are sometimes sold covered in a thick layer of salted charcoal paste.
The eggs salted in brine solution containing a higher salt concentration have a higher salt
content in the egg white, which dissociates the structure of the ovomucin and causes the egg white to
thin and decreases the ovomucin level, leading to an increased pH value in the egg white Salted eggs
made of duck egg brined in salt solution. Salty and savory, they’re a delicious addition to salads and
baked delicacies
This Income Generating Project will raise funds to procure a printer and printing materials
which will be used to print different reading materials which will be used by non-readers to improve
their reading comprehension skills.
The EBUN BURO - “Everyone Brings Unreserved and Nurturing Backup to Unfold Reading
Opportunities” as an IGP aims to start on June 2022. The proponent will have a conference with the
involved individual to inform them what will be their plan, schedule and work in the project. They
will undergo such trainings, advices and guidance with the proponent. The process of marketing
system was also been taught for them for them to experience how to look for prospective consumers.
The proponent will also conduct a conference with the beneficiaries together with the parents for the
financial statement and how the proceeds will be allotted for the purchase of printers.
