struction, design, performance and marking of factory made gullies for buildings, irrespective of material, for use in
drainage systems operating under gravity including siphonic systems.
MI
NOTE Although normally used to convey domestic wastewater, industrial wastewater and rainwater, gullies can convey
other wastewater provided there is no risk of damage to components or of injury to health.

This standard does not apply to gully tops and manhole tops which are specified in EN 124.

functioning of the installed gully.

In areas where pressure testing of the pipe system is necessary gullies for use in the ground floor shall enable such
test to be performed.

The upper surfaces of frame and grating shall be flush, except in unused flat roofs. When in position, it shall not be

) The effective flow rate of a roof outlet for siphonic drainage system depends on the specific
installation conditions and results from the calculation of the system using the coefficient of hydraulic
loss in accordance with prEN 1253-2:2002, 11.3.3.

8.12.2 Coefficient of hydraulic loss

For designing a siphonic drainage system, the coefficient of hydraulic loss of the complete ready for use roof outlet,
with and without possible extensions, shall be determined in accordance with prEN 1253-2:2002, 11.3.3.
