INTRODUCTION

It has to begin from somewhere, take it as a journey that has a starting place and a destination.
Welcome dear reader my name is Douglas Lagat I am born again Christ Jesus is my lord. I am going
to tell you of who I am just to give you a perspective of my writings.
I am a person who is critical in everything and if something doesn’t convince me I’d rarely
understand it, or embrace its ideology. I love things that works! I must say that the truths I am going
to share with you are truths that have worked! They are not rumors as some would say. I’d love to
challenge you to open your heart to receive, the revelations that the lord been teaching me over the
years.
Becoming strong in spirit!
Where did it first begin? I was studying the gospels and the day came when I was set to read the
book of Luke. This is normally what I do, I am a person who does studies a chapter of the bible the
whole day, since I knew from Jesus’ words that all things can pass away but not a jot from the word
of God.
For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no
means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Math 5:18

So I can pay attention to every word, knowing that the very Word I am studying is Spirit, it has life
and not only life, John captures a reality saying in that light there is the life of men.
In him was life, and that life was the light of men. John 1:4

When I hear this immediately I know every Word that proceeded out of the spirit is crucial to me
and lest I pay careful attention, I could miss the very life it intended to bring to me. I will not forget
Jesus’ saying that be careful how you listen.
Take heed how you hear Luke 8:18

Hearing is in fact the most crucial element that you must develop in order to get the wisdom from
this book and also when studying the word.
Till I come, give attention to reading 1tim 4:13

Pay attention and turn your ear to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I
teach Proverbs 22:17

Why would Paul encourage Timothy to pay attention to the study of scripture? We surely know that
the deep revelations of Jesus that was revealed, is through the life of this great Apostle Paul. What
then was his biggest secret in developing his listening ability? It is paying attention to scripture. I was
captured to my attention by what king Festus lamented when he heard of the revelations flowing
from the Apostle, and Festus the king made two statements ought to review,
Acts 26:24-28

1. Festus said with a loud voice, “Paul, you are beside yourself! Much learning is driving
you mad!”
2. Then Agrippa said to Paul, “You almost persuade me to become a Christian.”

To me really the secret of Paul was not only studying the word but paying careful attention to every
word as it proceeds forth from the Spirit.
Isn’t it amazing that Paul qualified every man by saying they can only receive approval from God
through their study? He says Study to show yourself approved!

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth. 2tim 2:15

I could go on and on just to prove to you that our in-depth study of the Word yields results.
I do study one chapter a day! I can study for hours, line by line when I hear someone say I study up
to 5-10 chapters I wonder how is that even possible! A chapter takes me hours let alone chapters! I
believe that now you have known what manner of personality I am since the depth of this revelation
that I am going to share, relies on your ability to hear well. I would encourage reading slowly and
keenly.
Lastly a verse we all love 2pet 1:3
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of
him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

If then what God has given unto us is depended on the knowledge of Him, we then have to give
ourselves into keen study. Let us avoid the hypocritical way of studying the Word as the Pharisees!
You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they
which testify of Me. John 5:39

You see such study never earns you anything! Let alone a Word from the Spirit, such study would
make you miss your divine blessing, such study would make you conclude that the word of God is
void of power! I encourage you, study slow, study with & by the Spirit, study with stillness of heart
and mind. Give yourself to study, that means create time and give yourself fully to reading every bit
of the Word.
Jesus was accused by the Pharisees for He claimed to be God and Jesus referred them to the very
scriptures they had studied and missed! I have made you gods!
Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? John 10:34
It’s interesting how they missed or assumed the revelation and the whispers of the Spirit saying I
have made you gods! I am not only excited when I receive such a Word as Jesus did and run with it,
but I strongly believe that whatever your eyes sees that becomes your inheritance even in the word
of God.
As far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession gen 13:14

It is the same promise in the word of God, what your eyes sees determines what you inherit or
receive from the Spirit. That’s the very reason why we need to ask God to always give us the Spirit
of wisdom and revelation when studying the Word, because He the Spirit does flood our
understanding with light and we begin to see in the Word of God inheritance after inheritance.
I know that most of us do not know that the Holy Spirit was given to us as a deposit guaranteeing
our inheritance! What is the inheritance? The very things you see/hear in the Word that becomes
yours!
The Spirit is the guarantee (the first installment, the pledge, a foretaste) of our
inheritance. Eph 1:14

Think of the wealth, the riches in Christ that have been hidden for our glory yet we are still in lack!
I will not continue to admonish you but just that you may walk and become strong in the spirit this
is the first ingredient that you have to purpose to have.
Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you col 3:16
CHAPTER 1
Luke 2:40

And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of
God was upon Him

Luke 2:52 NKJV

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

This is where it all begun, as I read this portion and slowly light begun to increase, and I asked the
Lord what does this mean? I do not understand. And the Lord begun to minister to me truths that
brought a great turn of events in my life. This has now become my greatest pursuit in the Spirit to
know the totality of this scripture and to walk in the light it brings.
Let’s begin by first dividing this scripture into bits
Rem rightly dividing the word of truth 2Tim 2:15

The child grew in stature - We know this phrase would clearly mean that Jesus grew from a baby
born to a young child, to a teenage, youth then an adult. We all understand this part so well. We
know that it took Mary and Joseph to provide for the essentials of Jesus’ growing. I believe that
every nutritional food brought about the success in the growth of stature if Jesus. Jesus was from a
well abled family as Joseph’s career would bring food on the table for the entire family. Here I am
not indebted to reveal a lot.
Just know that as Jesus later on in the ministry is concerned with the feeding the hungry. I must
encourage you that the Lord is concerned about your physical needs. He is obligated by His Word to
provide you the daily bread that you may grow in stature.
Do not be in any worry, concerning what to eat, drink or wear, remember His Word that God has
put much value on us above and on top of his creation. Math 6:33
Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What
shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father
knows that you need them math 6:32

Is it the things that you need in this life? Worry not He is concerned about your safety, He’s
concerned about your needs, remember as God sent angels to minister to the needs of Jesus, his
safety, his provision through the magi’s his place of residence through dreams, He is for sure
concerned about all that is involving you and I.
I feel like jumping straight away to the second part,
But I feel like the Spirit of God is ministering to you right now! You are worried about your life but
I must share to you this reality as I am writing this book, I am a student knowing in my spirit that
God has good plan for me to cater for my every need. It’s a time where there’s a great distress
financially even to have airtime to make a call is a challenge. As I look back not a day have I missed
a thing yet when I examine myself I have nothing at all to boast.
God is opening a door for you right now in the name of Jesus. That wardrobe that hasn’t
been changed for years I prophecy right now by the spirit of God a miracle is coming your
way in the name of Jesus. I hear a sound of abundance coming to someone, I hear food,
balance diet coming to you in the name of Jesus. May you receive all that you now desire in
the name of Jesus! Underline highlight this prayer if it’s you God is ministering to right now.

Part 2
Became strong in spirit – I’ll start by saying that THE SPIRIT BECOMES and does not grow!
Are you following? The spirit man is defined in terms of strength. You are right in saying that I am
strong in Spirit. You are right is proclaiming that you are a giant in the spirit, you are right by saying
I am of this spiritual ranking! Why? Because as we are going to see in the entire word the address
given to your spirit is in terms of great strength or weakness.
I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in
you. 1 John 2:14

Your spirit becomes Strong but unless you first understand how the spiritual world is structured,
you might not understand this phrase out clearly.
Let’s take a review of the SPIRITUAL WORLD, what is it and what constitutes it!
Ephesians 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Psalms 103:20

Bless the LORD, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, obeying the
voice of His word!

As we take the journey from these scriptures, they do paint a picture of the spirit world clearly. As
the spiritual world comprises of Spirits of men, Angels, evil spirits and that is the position of our
spirits, unlike the flesh which is positioned on earth where the realities are very different we talk in
terms of age, gender, language, position which are all the realities that is summed up in this
statement – growing in stature and enjoying all that pertains the level of stature you are in.
Paul says when I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a
child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 1 cor 3:11

This clearly outlines the position of our bodies so to speak and the realities we will step in as we
grow in Grace!
But my focus is on the position of our spirits.
Look we are introduced to battles straight away when the spirit world is brought to our attention!
WE WRESTLE! This then requires us to operate in a position of strength.
Indeed, no one can enter a strong man’s house to steal his possessions unless he first ties
up the strong man. Then he can plunder his house mark3:27

NLT puts is way better

Who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man and plunder his goods? Only
someone even stronger—someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house

This is the picture Jesus used to illustrate the capacity our spirits ought to become in order to
plunder enemies in the spiritual position.
Ephesians 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Paul highlights who we fight against and in order of rank and spiritual strength he lists them as

 Principalities
 Powers
 Rulers of darkness
 Spiritual wickedness
Look at these as in ranks! The demonic world is structured in terms of strength and rank. And as we
engage ourselves in spiritual battles sometimes its first important to investigate the rank of that
battle and also know how far have we exercised ourselves in spiritual things to know what rank we
have become in the spirit!
It is your rank in the spirit that gives you power to exercise authority over demons of certain ranks
In Luke 10:19
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power
of the enemy. Nothing will harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to
you

Jesus gave them power to cast out evil spirts Luke 9:1 he gave them power and authority to
drive out all demons and to cure diseases and we see them exercising this power over certain
demons until it came to this one, Luke 9:40

I begged your disciples to drive it out, but they could not.

Why couldn’t they drive it out? It was a matter of strength! Jesus said Matthew 17:21

Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
Jesus then pointed out what we’ll later talk in depth, pointing to the kind of strength they had built
on themselves.
Since you have had a picture of how the spiritual position looks like we must resume to knowing
then what effort goes into achieving this reality of becoming strong in the spirit
Luke 2:40

And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the
grace of God was upon Him

The spirit man is being built up. As you take a look at your spirit, from the day you were born, there
was need for you to learn spiritual exercises that jams up your strength in the spirit. Literally looking
at the challenges, sicknesses temptations that have overcome you in one way or another would give
you a clue of how strong you are in the spirit.
Remember sicknesses and diseases are inflaming arrows of the enemy towards you, it seems we
don’t interpret it that way! That shows how you are in battle. It shows whether you are winning or
being won against.
Jesus stated his mission saying; 1John 3:8
This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.

His mission was to destroy the works of the enemy, and think of it as your mission too! So that as
you engage yourself in a daily preparation you got an overview of what you are preparing for and
what you are expecting too.
Jesus gives us a stern and point blank mission if you are thinking of following him. He says sit down
first and count the cost!
Luke 14:28 NKJV
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost,
whether he has enough to finish it

Think of it really and look at your Christian life, is it full of strategies into achieving a winning plan
for the battles ahead of you? Remember just as its always being said, the devil is always on duty just
as 1pet 5:8 be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring
lion, seeking whom he may devour.

This calls for a serious review and to concentrate on building up our spirit man that a time of
trouble comes may not find you off-guard or rather without any armor!
Eph 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

2 Timothy 3:1 but realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.

When you see these phrases then you want to gear yourself toward building your spirit.
Remember don’t worry at all because the bible verse promises us to become strong accompanied by
grace and wisdom for the same
Luke 2:40
And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was
upon Him
There is grace somebody rejoice! I could feel the gloom.

PART 3
Are you shaking? This is probably how I’d feel when such a heavy information that emphasizes a
turnaround in your life would make you feel. As the lord continued to minister to me, he drew my
attention to the life and the ministry of Christ which is worth paying a close attention to details since
Jesus’ life was a roll out of how a Christian life ought to be replayed.
When we say we are born again or rather Christianity what are we confessing ourselves into? We are
confessing ourselves into the very life of Christ and I’ll insist to say it is no longer your life but the
life of Christ is at work inside of you. The life of Christ resides in your spirit trapped in its
wholesome state to rescue us when we call. Remember
Prov 18:10 the name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

This is the life of Christ inside of you.

Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

This is just glad tidings and good news (too good to be true) but is true, hallelujah Amen!
Now but amidst this great promises there is exercises to do that aims in achieving much life of God
expressed through your members.
1tim 4:8
For physical exercise is of limited value, but godliness (spiritual training) is valuable in every
way, holding promise for the present life and for the one to come.

You can only appreciate this once you realize that Jesus Though he was God, he did not think of
equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the
humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. (phil2:6) he chose to do things the way
it’s supposed to be done, he engaged himself fully on doing spiritual exercises.
Before We really highlight the spiritual exercises I would like to conclude this chapter by saying your
journey of becoming strong in the spirit has just begun.
The constant battles, sicknesses and all the inflaming arrows of the enemy are going to be defeated
once you learn truths that positions you for victory.
Jesus just amazes me when he says in John 10:18 “No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it
voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up
again. For this is what my Father has commanded.” Such an assurance doesn’t come out of
pride but out of knowledge of who you are and whose you are. As we build our spirits I believe the
same grace of God upon our lord Jesus will operate in us to be able to come to such a level where
we have nothing to fear why? Prov 3:26 For the LORD will be your confidence, and will keep your
foot from being caught.

Praise be unto our Lord Jesus!

Amen.
