Greetings!

We, the 3rd year students of the BS Environmental Engineering Program of the MSU-IIT College of
Engineering (CoE), are planning to conduct a sewage water testing activity for our subject ENE131.1 -
Wastewater Engineering Laboratory. We are writing to request permission to conduct an on-site water
testing of the water treatment facility, and we believe that PRISM's wastewater treatment facility would
be an ideal location to obtain relevant data for our activity.

The purpose of the activity is to evaluate the efficiency of sewage water treatment plants in removing
contaminants and pollutants from wastewater. Our class would like to collect water samples from
different points in PRISM’s STP facility and analyze them at the Bioprocess Research Laboratory, which
is situated on the 3rd floor of the Engineering Technology Complex building.

We guarantee that the water testing will be carried out in accordance with all relevant safety precautions
and won't interfere with the facility's normal operations. Once our analysis is finished, we will be pleased
to send you a copy of the test results.

We are planning to conduct the wastewater sampling this coming May 4,5,8 2023. Please let us know if
you are willing to provide us with permission to conduct the water testing.
