Candidiasis (kan-duh-dy'-uh-sis).

Infection with, or disease caused by, a yeast in the genus

Candida—usually Candida albicans; also known as moniliasis

The two major divisions of helminths are roundworms (nematodes) and flatworms. The
flatworms are further divided into tapeworms (cestodes) and flukes (trematodes).

A group of moulds, collectively referred to as dermatophytes, cause tinea infections, which

are often referred to as “ringworm” infections.

Tinea versicolor, caused by Malassezia furfur, is a ringworm infection that affects the skin
of the chest or back and, less commonly, the arms, thighs, neck, and face.
