Multiple-monitor Functions (2)

Refresh period of graphic views in

multiple-monitor environment

If the total number of displayable views is large, the HIS

automatically changes the slowest refresh period to reduce
the communication loads.
In this case, the graphic view will be refreshed at either the
refresh period specified on the graphic builder or the slowest
refresh period automatically changed by HIS, whichever is
slower.

The HIS determines the slowest refresh period based on the

total number of displayable views. The total number of
displayable views depends on the number of pop-up windows
and container windows specified at the “Operation screen
mode” in the display tab sheet of the HIS setup window.

Multiple-monitor Functions (3)

Total number of displayable views in full-

screen mode
– Total number of views = (1 + number of pop-up windows) ×
number of monitors

Ex)When set the number of pop-up windows to 3 on HIS set up

and 2 monitors are using:
(1+3)×2 = 8 Total number of views = 8

HIS automatically changes the slowest refresh period of the

following graphic views.
1. Graphic views opened in frames on the main and sub monitors,
except the view No. 1.
2. All views except main monitor and specified sub monitor in HIS
set up window.
3. All pop-up windows in every monitor.

<date/time> Page 17
Multiple-monitor Functions (4)

Total number of displayable views in

window mode
– Total number of views = number of container windows ×
number of monitors

Ex) When set the number of pop-up windows to 3 on HIS set up

and 2 monitors are using:
3×2 = 6 Total number of views = 6

HIS automatically changes the min refresh period of the all graphic
views.

Multiple-monitor Functions (5)

After the total number of displayable views is determined, the HIS

automatically changes the slowest refresh period of graphic views
according to the table below.
Note: View 1 (primary target view) still refreshes at 1 sec
Total number of views Min refresh period of graphic views
(Calculated value)
01~06 1 sec

07~12 2 sec

13~20 4 sec

21~32 8 sec

Custom Faceplates (1)

These are called user-defined faceplates in

CENTUM CS 3000 R3’s HIS.

Created using Graphic Builder. There are two

types that can be created: For a specific tag
name, or for a specific function block model.

In the same way as when call a faceplate

window, the user can open custom faceplates
by typing their respective tag names. If a file
for the accessed custom faceplate exists, the
custom faceplate itself takes priority and is
opened.

INC/DEC button cannot be operated in a

custom faceplate. Custom faceplates cannot
be used as graphic faceplate controls (i.e.,
displayed as original faceplate in graphics).
