Writing Development and Goals

Improvement is part of progress, after finishing multiple discussions this month followed by projects. I
have learned important lessons that help achieve the goal of taking this class. I have implemented the
methods taught in this course and have become an overall technical writer. Even though I might already
know some information taught over the course. It was important to get second help and clarification from
the professor and peers. I have improved in general with formal writing techniques while also keeping
track of the main information. I believe this is an important lesson that will be required in future with
technical sectors. I was always told that information has no value if it cannot be explained to others in a
positive way. After finishing this course, I believe I am a step closer to understanding and portraying the
information processed to specific groups of audience.

Assignments
I am proud of all the assignments that I finished as it took effort and dedication to accomplish. There were
multiple instances where I thought the work that I just finished was a masterpiece but that changed after I
started a new assignment. I understand the importance of all the assignments in this course, the format of
the course was very student friendly and keeping in mind the fact that this is summer semester. There are
a few places where changes might be required for the betterment of the course. I would encourage adding
assignments that focus on communication methods used in corporate world such as summarizing an
extensive graph report, explaining PowerPoint slides to non-technical audience and creating technical
proposals that helps raise a topic to a professional group of audience. Lastly a change that I would like to
suggest, currently we are asked to create a website that contains all of our projects submitted. As you
described in the video presentation, this way you could avoid downloading multiple files and instead have
all the files accessible in one place. I would agree that is indeed true, but still lacks the part of security
you mentioned in case a student has a grudge over the grades they received and tries to infect a computer
with malware/virus. As a computer science student, I would like to correct your ideology and raise some
awareness. Nowadays phishing links are getting more common from scammers that are extremely
deceptive and are used to fool the user to access their browser stored information (passwords, credit card
details) and even provide your current location to link owner. I would kindly request you to use the
feature canvas provides as this is a major privacy breach and has almost no way to differentiate when
clicking random links provided by the students.

Overall, this semester has been extremely informative with teachings of formal communicational
methods. I would like to thank you for the format you chose to help the students out as many of us were
taking multiple classes. I also appreciate the quick email responses I received every time there were issues
that I faced.
