Never service attachments without instructions. See

Manual.

Cleaning and maintenance are required daily.

Never service or adjust attachment with the engine running


unless instructed to do so in manual.

Always lower the attachment to the ground before


lubricating or servicing.

Avoid contact with leaking hydraulic fluid or diesel fuel


under pressure. It can penetrate skin or eyes.

Stop, cool and clean engine of flammable materials before


checking fluids.

Keep body, loose objects and clothing away from moving


parts, electrical contacts, hot parts and exhaust.

Safety glasses are needed for eye protection from electrical


arcs. battery acid, compressed springs, fluids under
pressure and flying debris or when tools are used. Use eye
protection approved for type of welding.

[Figure 10-20-1]. The levers and wedges must move
freely.

Inspect the mounting frame on th e attachment and the


Bob-Tach, linkages and wedges for excessive wear or
damage. Replace any parts that are damaged, bent, or
missing [Figure 10-20-3]. Keep all fasteners tight.

Look for cracked welds. Contact your Bobcat dealer for


repair or replacement parts.

Lubricate the wedges. (See the correct Loader Operation


& Maintenance Manual for LUBRICATION OF THE
BOBCAT MACHINE.)

NOTE: The Power Bob-Tach system has continuous


pressurized hydraulic oil to keep the wedges
in the engaged position and prevent
attachment disengagement. Because the
wedges can slowly lower, the operator may
need to reactivate the switch (BOB-TACH
WEDGES UP) to be sure both wedges are fully
raised before installing the attachment.

Push and hold the BOB-TACH WEDGES UP switch until


wedges are fully raised. Push and hold the BOB-TACH
WEDGES DOWN switch until [Figure 10-20-4] the
wedges are fully down. B-17460

The wedges must move freely.


Inspect the mounting frame on th e attachment and the
Bob-Tach, linkages and wedges for excessive wear or
damage [Figure 10-20-6].
Replace any parts that are damaged, bent, or missing.
Keep all fasteners tight. Inspect the hoses and fittings for
leaks.
Look for cracked welds. Contact your Bobcat dealer for
repair or replacement parts.

BOBCAT LOADER.)

Removal And Installation
When repairing hydrostatic and hydraulic systems,
clean the work area before disassembly and keep all
parts clean. Always use caps and plugs on hoses,
tubelines and ports to keep dirt out. Dirt can quickly

Place the bas e end of the hydraulic cylinder in a dr ain


pan. Move the rod in and out to remove the fluid from the
cylinder. Move the rod slowly so the fluid will go directly
into the drain pan.

Place the base end of the cylinder in a vise.

Remove the rod assembly from the cylinder case [Figure


20-20-12].
IMPORTANT Remove the cylinder case from the vise.

When repairing hydrostatic and hydraulic systems, Place the rod end in the vise.

clean the work area before disassembly and keep all
parts clean. Always use caps and plugs on hoses, Figure 20-20-13
tubelines and ports to keep dirt out. Dirt can quickly
damage the system.

Clean all parts in solvent and dry with compressed air.


Remove the O -ring (Item 1) [Figure 20-20-19] from the
piston. While servicing the cylinder, do not damage the parts.
Inspect for nicks, scratches or otherwise damaged or
bent parts before assembling the cylinder. Replace parts
that appear damaged in any way. The cylinder may not
function correctly if there is damage to any of the parts.

Destroy all the O-rings and seals and replace them with
NEW O-rings and seals.
