 Who would be the person/persons who would be auditioning potential actors for their
company? Who are the artists involved with this company?
The person that would be auditioning would be the artistic director David Nairn. Some of the
artists involved are performers like Jeremiah Sparks, Reid Janisse, Jacob James, Robin Schisler.
Musicians like Clive VanderBurgh, Rob Fortin and Susan Newman. Bekie Morris and Brian Ball in
set design and costume designs by Alex Amini and Wendy Speck.

 What type of shows have they programmed in the current season? What are their past
practices, what is their history of shows?
For this season they have scheduled Suddenly single which is more of a one-person comedy
stand by Anne Marie Scheffler, They’re Found in Trees by Norm Foster, The Last Christmas
Turkey by Dan Needles and Clive VanderBurgh, performed by their young company, Beneath
Springhill: The Maurice Ruddick Story by Beau Dixon, The Bluff by Kristen Da Silva and The New
Canadian Curling Club. These are all Canadian works. There is not a lot of information about
their pasts seasons but they have done Shakespeare’s works like A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Also, in 2019 they created their largest production for their 25 th anniversary, The Dream, with a
24-person cast, a 30-person chorus and a large outdoor stage. During COVID they also started
virtual productions and programs and ow they have a website where you can stream their
shows.

This company is located in Orangeville, Ontario and the auditions would be in their venue, The

They don’t have any dates posted for their next season yet but to get more information you can

 Why Mandate—does the theatre have a stated mandate? A philosophy? What is it?
Their mission is to showcase new Canadian works, to provide the young generation an
opportunity to include performing arts in their lives, to engage the community and to promote
diversity and acceptance of all disabilities.
