HISTORY

San Felipe de Aconcagua better known as San Felipe

It is a commune and city located in the Valparaíso Region in the Central Zone of Chile.

The Commune is the Capital of the province of San Felipe de Aconcagua and was founded on
August 3, 1740.

CLIMA
As in the entire lower part of the Aconcagua Valley, in summer it is characterized by
being one of the hottest areas in Chile and high UV radiation, and in winter, it is
characterized by torrential rains and frosts below 0 °C. The minimum maximum
recorded has been -7.8 °C in winter, and the maximum historical temperature
recorded was 42.7 °C
TOURISM
In San Felipe we can find various cultural attractions such as the Convent of Curimón,
the Church of the Good Shepherd and its valleys, favored by an ideal climate for the
cultivation of fruits and vegetables.
Museo Historic de Aconcagua

In the museum there is a sample of the Aconcagua culture and another of


various historical objects that mainly refer to San Felipe.
Casa Mardones

Colonial house from the end of the 18th century, initially it was an agricultural property,
which was acquired in 1830 by the Mardones family. In 1988 this property was declared a
National Monument, under the category of Historical Monument. It currently belongs to
Club San Felipe.

Catedral de San Felipe


Officially created in 1740, with the founding of the city, as the Iglesia
Mayor de Aconcagua. In 1925 S.S Pío XI raised the then Parochial Church
of San Felipe to the dignity of Cathedral Temple. On September 29, 1989,
it was declared a National Monument through D. S. 490.
POBLACION
San Felipe had a population of 19,204 in the last sense that was made in
2018
the use of Spanish predominates, and the ñätho language has an
increasingly reduced domain

In San Felipe, spring arrives in the months of September, October and
November.
Summer arrives in the months of December, January and February.
