ACTION REFLECTION FAITH in ACTION (ARFA)

Our community service began today; it was meant to have started yesterday, but the
weather prevented us from going. Before we left the school, our clinical professors went through
the daily schedules and reminders with us. As a result, we traveled to Sta Maria from
Tuguegarao City. When we arrived, we were greeted by barangay officials and guided to the
various residences to begin our task. We conducted in-depth interviews with a variety of families
in Purok Población 3, where we acquired baseline data and respected community members' vital
signs.

Meeting the people of Sta Maria has been a rewarding and humbling experience for me. This
experience improved not only my professional knowledge and skills, but it also motivated me to
perform even better in the tasks I am currently performing. Hearing all of their stories made me
realize how we all go through different stages of life at the same time. For these people, who
have a kind and generous heart, winning their trust for us was not harder than we thought it
would be. I firmly believe that as providers of future health care, we must also participate in
involving and inspiring our patients to appreciate the beauty that life still has for each of them.

The 4-year-old client who was diagnosed with cancer out of all the customers we saw, though,
really touched my heart. He shown courage in the face of difficulties. This made me realize that
I should always keep my feet on the ground and believe that everything would be fine if I just
keep living life to the fullest.

As Isaiah 41:10 says “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed. For I am your God; I will
strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous hand.” Humans have a
variety of difficulties and stages throughout life. Conquering our daily lives may be difficult for
some, but we must remember that if things are not going well, we have Christ who will guide
and shine light despite the darkness that we are experiencing. Nobody can guarantee tomorrow;
we all live day by day. However, we must always humble ourselves in order to serve our purpose
with Christ as our guide and anchor.

As future health care professionals, sharing our skills and knowledge with our patients does not
define the obligation that we all have for them. We ought to be their source of courage and hope
in all that they encounter in life. Because we are more than just healthcare providers, we think of
our patients as members of our family.

ACTION REFLECTION FAITH in ACTION (ARFA)

Today marked the second day of our community duty. The day began at Poblacion 3 as
we made a follow-up checkup regarding the vital signs of our customers and continued our
health education in every household. As we were driving to Poblacion 3, our clinical instructors
once again reminded us of the tasks that we must complete for the day. Following that, our group
made the decision to choose our client as the subject of our grand case presentation. When we
had the opportunity to select our client, we conducted a thorough evaluation of our chosen
patient.

I believe I tried my best today to complete our tasks. It was significantly more meaningful for me
to see our clients again today than it was when we saw them yesterday. Since we conducted a
thorough examination of our patients' families, we know that they were able to provide us with
specific information about their current state of health and general well-being. It helped me
realize that I need to value my life more. These people who choose to remain grateful in spite of
what they are going through must be kept in mind when I start to grumble about the little things.

“In all things, let us all give thanks” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18. We all currently have what we have
because of God. Regardless of how great or tiny something may be for us, we must constantly
express gratitude and praise. I've learned a lot about thankfulness because of today's event. A
humble and kinder tomorrow resulted from living in the now with gratitude.

Today's agenda reminded me that we should always be grateful for what we have, no matter
where we are. We must also serve as an instrument to help those in need in our neighborhood. As
aspiring nurses, engaging with and paying attention to our patients can go a long way toward
assisting them. Because I've recognized that these individuals seek someone who will genuinely
listen to them. People who, despite the issues they are now facing, may bring them solace and
calm.
