the engine’s performance was enhanced and modifications on the vehicle are not needed to use
it. This was intended to be sold to the automotive sector and the refineries in the oil and gas

Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Biogas

 An eco-friendly and renewable source of energy mainly used in cooking. These solid
wastes contain wood, animal fat, other used oils, sugarcane, rice, and much more. MSW was
the chosen source in meaning biogas due to its high energy potential and at the same time
converting wastes into more useful products. According to Rice Knowledge Bank, rice has
around 30-50% organic carbon which is a high source of energy for producing biogas. As EIA
states, 100 pounds of MSW can be converted into 85 pounds of biogas which can be used for
electricity generation and for household consumption. It is in gaseous form packed in gas
cylinders for household kitchen use. Compared to the conventional LPG, biogas are far more
efficient and safer to use due to its heating value. Biogas made from MSW has a heating value
of 20.23 MJ/m3 while LPG has a heating value of 49.29 MJ/kg which equate to a total of 3.1133
kgCO2/kg in terms of emission factor. By using MSW Biogas, carbon emissions will be reduced
up to 84.92% when compared to using LPG and other conventional household kitchen gas. By
using MSW Biogas, solid wastes coming from each household can now be repurposed and the
total number of wastes that end up in landfills can be reduced. According to RoadRunner,
around 292.4 million tons of municipal solid waste end up in landfills. By repurposing and
recycling them, solid wastes in landfills can have a decrease of over half the total mass of
landfills and waste dumps.

Biodiesel

A fuel sourced from different kinds of oil and animal fats which makes it efficient and
eco-friendly than conventional diesel fuel. Its content can range from waste vegetable oil and
cooking oil to crops such as rapeseed, and soybeans. Unlike fossil diesel fuel which is carbon
heavy, Biodiesel can be considered as carbon neutral as its original source didn’t come from
carbon based objects such as bones and coals. According to Advance Motor Fuels (AMF),
diesel fuel and other forms of gasoline contain around 86% carbon in their content while
biodiesel mixed with gasoline has around 20% carbon content. By using this context, it simply
shows that by using biodiesel, carbon emissions coming from vehicles can be reduced in a
significant amount. Another thing about biodiesels are that they are much more safe to use in
engines due to the fact that diesel engines tend to clog and fail when fossil diesels and
gasolines are used while on the other hand, biodiesel raises the cetane number of the fuel
which makes the engine more lubricated and much smoother than other diesel engines. Diesel
engines tend to make noise when used with diesel fuels but when it comes to biodiesel, due to
its high lubrication, the engine produces a quieter noise which is beneficial not only for the
person using it but also to the community as it creates less disturbance in the neighborhood.

Biofuel Friendly Internal Combustion Engine (BFICE)

Biofuel Friendly Internal Combustion Engines (BFICE) are one of the products that our
company offers. It is a type of engine that can handle biofuels without the inferior qualities that a
normal diesel engine carries. A typical diesel engine corrodes and degrades when poor quality
biodiesel is applied because as time goes by, biodiesel oxidizes which leaves water inside the
engine thus corroding it. By using BFICE, a vehicle can prolong its life even when using any
type of biodiesel because it is made in different metal and coated in a different material which
makes it more resistant to corrosion and degradation. If not maintained properly, an engine will
last 6 months up to 1 year before being rendered unusable due to corrosion. According to the
Society of Automotive Engineers, corrosion in gasoline engines is caused by sulphuric acid
forming in low grade fuels which is mixed with water thus damaging the metal. BFICE is created
using stainless steel which can withstand corrosion and high heat, great for combustion of
biofuels. BFICE also utilizes proper biodiesel consumption thus making it far more efficient than
other vehicle engines.
