Narrative Report

On March 21,2022, I decided to conduct a barangay interview. I interviewed one

of the barangay kagawad, and our former barangay secretary, as we gathered data and
asked about the current situation of the Barangay in terms of the eight topics assigned.
Some of our prepared questions are about the statistics, problems encountered in lined
with the topic, strategies to mitigate the problem and such. The sad part in our
conducted interview is the lack of some important statistics which is needed to ensure
the data is accurate and credible. The reason why we mostly relied to the estimated
percentage given by the interviewee. By doing this, we found out that most of the
developmental projects are pending because of lack of funding. It’s also opened my
mind to the effort of our barangay to at least lessen the problems Jin our barangay and
find out which project must be prioritize that will contribute to the development of our
barangay. In last part, they scheduled our presentation of project proposal on the 1 st
saturday of May.
On the same day, I asked one of the residents in our barangay, which is Ms.
Vega, a store owner residing in Purok 2, on her own perception about the problems in
our barangay. She enumerate the increasing number of out-of-school youth which
results to roaming at her store even at night, and disturbing darkness at night in Purok
2. I also agree to her since I’m also a resident of Purok 2. The reason why I choose
installation of additional solar streetlights, since it’s one of the basic needs of the
residents and most of the residents complain about the deficient number in one of the
most secluded area in Capacuan.
Due to the unexpected personal business of our Barangay Captain on the
scheduled date of their session, we present our project proposal on May 3, 2022. My
chosen project proposal tackles the reason/justification why it must accomplish as soon
as possible, since it’s about the security of every resident in the area. The good thing is
they approved it right away because I’m shaking during the entire presentation. They
just correct my materials and quantity in the detailed budgetary requirement for the
project proposal.
All in all, I find the entire process in doing this very meaningful as I contribute in
proposing a project proposal which I hope to be implemented in our barangay. In this
activity, I become a medium of the residents into our barangay officials to caught their
attention and make an immediate action regarding with this.
