ABSTRACT

Due to the fact that English Language is the official language of Nigeria, and
Nigerian is a multilingual country. English Language continues to grow
popular every day. Foreign music such as R & B, hip-hop, reggae etc, with its
high level of spread lately has contributed a great deal in influencing English
usage of Nigeria students. This research work has aimed to enlighten people on
how foreign R & B, hip-hop, reggae music penetrates and affect their usage of
English Language. This research work has examined the various ways in which
the foreign R & B, foreign music affects the usage of English Language using
some selected foreign R & B tracts. The result of the analysis shows that foreign
R & B music introduces and changes a lot in English vocabulary of Nigeria
students.
