3. Consulting Mission
The SESAME project is a unique exercise that is a major asset of your program. ATBS partner company
submits a current strategic issue to a group of 40 students in a letter of engagement. Students, coached by
the professors, carry out a strategic diagnosis aiming to analyze the competitive position of the company,
then propose strategic and operational recommendations to meet the challenges faced by the company.
✓ The students carry out a real mission of free advice on behalf of a company, an institution or an
association
✓ Learning by doing: put into practice your skills and knowledge
Examples of Partner Companies: Aerospace Valley, AIRBUS, Cap Gemini, Comtesse du Barry, Continental
Automotive, EY, Hilti, Mars Petfoods, Motorola, Thalès, Rockwell & Collins.
Each student following this MSc program is required to write an individual dissertation.
The objective is to address a current or recent issue in management from an academic or professional
perspective, thus contributing to the study, analysis, formalization and abstraction of the identified problem
or issue as they are related to their professional field of expertise.
This requires students to develop a wide range of capabilities by drawing knowledge from both the
academic and professional literature, as well as from the various MSc courses.
The dissertation should:
✓ For students doing an internship: be developed around a major management issue related to the
mission of the internship
✓ For students not doing an internship: be based on a convincing literature review
In both cases, students are required to refer to a substantial number of academic articles, as well as
professional articles if and where they are appropriate. In this work, the student is expected to clearly
highlight his/her contribution from a personal and critical analysis standpoint.
The contribution expected from students is essentially geared towards personal and professional
development.
