Retrofit a comand in my W204 C class

Im trying to retrofit a original command unit in my

W204 C class. The display won’t open, any one got
a wiring diagram for the connections to the
display?@I’m suspecting that there is a wiring
problem since I don’t have the close switch fitted
by the went outlet.)
The sound doesn’t work, could it be a problem that
my car isn’t fitted with a fiber optic cable?, or
should it work even if I don’t have the sound
system?
Grateful if someone could answer me on this
questions?

Hi, somebody have diagrams for retrofit audio20 for
APS in W204??
I need the schematics electric diagram for APS

Thanks,

That would be difficult because there is no Audio

20 APS as far as I'm aware.

Do you mean Comand APS or Audio 50 ASP

instead?

Hello All,
I have a doubt, I have the retrofit cable for comand
A2045409706 which has all necessary conectors
to adapt audio 20 to comand.
WIS indications recomand to replace all the wires of
audio 20 for it. My question is:
Can I reuse groud and S12v cable from audio 20
with retrofit cable ?
If I do this I will not have to plug the S12v cable to
fuse box and groud to chasis point.

Thanks

You should replace the entire display unit with the

7" display unit. you would need to rewire the power
cable as shown in pages 14 [ 19 of this thread. I
would also recommend that you replace the data
cable or you can twist you existing one to fit but it
is not advised. I dunno if the result would be you
having a larger screen and a smaller display field on
the screen? I think you really should replace the
Audio 20 with the Audio 50 APS or Command HU.

Seems logical. I only used the portions of the
retrofit cable, and I did not use the ground wires
that came with it.

Can someone make a quick video on how to retrofit. I
am extremely interested in retrofitting, but I am scared
shi%$*ss!!! Also does anyone know the answer to these
two questions:
Can European Comand units work in the US?
Is it essential that one installs the ac blower?

No video, but if you re-review this entire thread and

review Vic's thread. I think you will have enough
info to do it.

Yes the blower should be installed. I ran for a week

or two without it while i was trying to figure out
how to install it. I kept the unit in the engineering
menu and monitored the temp - it did get hot. I
don't remember the temps but when I got the fan
installed it was significantly lower for the time I
monitored it.

Hi, finally I complete retrofit, but I had to buy a new
comwand, is it faulty...
Anyone knows how can I reflash it? I think that eproom
is damaged...

Try MBZ or find a unit from a wrecked vehicle and

switch out the hard drive?

One should really do some good homework before

attempting task like this. One thing is wiring
diagrams and learning how the system is
configured. This very same thread already had
some wiring diagrams, showing the display fuse
too.

Depends on your equipment? Do you have 810

@Sound System audio)? Perhaps your Comand is
coded for an external amplifier.

The wiring diagram shows the speaker connectors

at the quad-lock.

Glad to hear you got the display working. Are you

sure you wired it from the same fuse as the wiring
diagram suggests @I did not check this)?

Changing Comand in W204 C Class

Hi everybody, I have a new MB C200K @2009h in

Argentina, it cames with CD (mp3) and small LCD
@5") and no Nav System, neither big monitor @7").

But I have got a Mercedes Benz C class W204

Command HDD DVD Navigation with DVD player
internal HDD 40GB @Command Part number: A 204
906 09 02 and Monitor Part Number: A204 820 40
97), and I'm not sure if I can "change" units and
monitors. Here in Argentina don't know this parts.
Do you think is possible to do it?

Thanks for your advice in advance, and sorry for

my english!

The radio harness for the LCD and the COMAND

harness for the LCD look almost the same. In fact
they have the same connectors.

I taped the new one to the old one and fed it

through in about 3 minutes (once I had access).

So there is no profit in rewiring such a cheap cable.

Its only held in by a tube and can so easily be
installed. Why even waste time with the old LCD
cable.

Or are you gents referring to something else ?
