There is only one waterproof terminal of the pressure sensor at the bottom of fan drivers of some
outdoor unit models.
Step 5 Remove external cables from the ports shown in Figure 4-4, and remove the interconnection
terminal of the temperature sensor (some models do not have this sensor).
Step 6 Remove the two screws that secure the sheet metal of the temperature sensor probe, and
remove the screw that secures the sensor probe.
Step 7 Pull out the sensor probe from the waterproof terminal, and take out the temperature sensor
inside the driver.
Step 8 Take all cables disconnected from the PG waterproof terminal out of the waterproof terminal
outside the driver.
Step 9 Unfasten the six M4 screws in the mounting ears at both sides of the fan driver, as shown in
Figure 4-6. Remove the fan driver.
Step 10 Install the new fan driver in the sequence of Step 9 to Step 3.
1. NetCol500-A072 (two fans): When installing the fan cables, you are recommended to remove the
waterproof terminal of Fan1 first because of limited space. When the cable in waterproof terminal of
Fan2 is done, install the cable in waterproof terminal of Fan1.
2. Method of installing the cables: Route the cables, and connect the cable to terminals. Reserve some
cables in the driver. Clamping the inner hex nut using an adjustable wrench, turn the PG connector
using another adjustable wrench, and then tighten the PG connector.
3. Install the front cover of the fan driver using an M6 torque wrench, and tighten screws to a torque of
3 N·m.
Step 11 Power on the device. Before starting a fan driver for the first time, you must configure the
outdoor fan type.
If the software version is V200R001 or an earlier version, or if the software version is
V200R002 or a later version and dry contact connection is used between indoor unit and
outdoor unit, perform the following operations when the indoor unit is shut down.
1. When the outdoor unit is shut down, manually modify the E-02 parameter (Fan type
selection) based on the outdoor fan type. For details about fan types represented by
different parameter values, refer to Table 3-5.
2. Set the E-12 parameter (Command for writing a parameter value into the EEPROM) to
1.
3. Power off the outdoor unit and then power it on.
If the software version is V200R002 or a later version and RS485 connection is used between
indoor unit and outdoor unit, perform this operation when the indoor unit is shut down.
1. On the home screen of the indoor unit, choose Settings > System Settings > Outdoor
Fan.
2. Set Outdoor unit type and Outdoor fan type based on the actual situation. When
replacing the NetCol500-A0725C11E0 fan driver, set Outdoor unit type to
NetCol500-A0725C11E0, and set Outdoor fan type to Dual fan; freq: 50 Hz.
Except NetCol500-A072 for double fans, and the rest outdoor units are single fans.
The rated frequency can be found on the nameplate of the fan, and the nameplate is pasted on the
side of the fan connecting box. If there are 50 Hz words on the nameplate, select freq: 50 Hz. If
there are 50 Hz and 60 Hz words on the nameplate, select freq: 60 Hz.

Procedure
Step 1 Cut the cable ties that secure fan cables using diagonal pliers.
Step 2 Remove the fan wiring box cover using a Phillips screwdriver, as shown by (1) in Figure 4-7,
and remove six cable terminals using a small flat-head screwdriver.
Step 3 Loosen the waterproof cable terminal, as shown by (2) in Figure 4-7, and pull the cable out of
the wiring box.
Step 4 Remove the four screws that secure the fan guard using a socket wrench, as shown by (3) in
Figure 4-7, and take off the fan and guard.
Step 5 Remove the four screws that connect the fan and guard using a torque wrench, and take off
the faulty fan.
Step 6 Install the new fan in the sequence from Step 5 to Step 1.
Step 7 After re-power on, on the home screen of the indoor unit, choose Maint > Diagnostic
Mode > Enter, and set the outdoor unit speed to 100%. After the outdoor unit has run for 5
minutes, check that the outdoor fan is running properly and no alarm is raised.
Step 8 After confirmation, set the outdoor unit speed to 0% and exit from the diagnostic mode.
