1.Fad diets are weight loss plans that
people think will allow them to lose weight
quickly in a short amount of time. Fad
diets are costly because it requires a
person to buy certain products. A person
who loses weight on a fad diet usually
gains the weight back
2.Anorexia nervosa ia an irrational fear a
person has of becoming obese. A person
will starve themselves in response to this
diorder. This is a psychological disorder
with emotional and physical
consequences. A person has a low self
concept and coping abilities. Hormones
and brain chemicals have been shown to
trigger this ilness. Usually this disorder
begins in the teenage years. Sympromsare obsession with exercising, emotional
problems, denial of eating problem and a
distorted body image. Treatment for
anorexia nervossa may include a stay ata
clinic, psychological treatment or a
hostpital to regain weight, nutrients and
strenght.
3.It is a disorder in which some form of
purging or clearing of the digestive tract
follows cycles of overeating
lesson 3
1. An Athlete should eat 3-4 hours before
competition. This allows the stomach to
empty yet give the athlete energy and free
of hunger pangs. A meal higher in
carbonhydrates, lower in protein and fat.
Foods such as pasta, vegetables, breads
and fruits. Plenty of water should beconsumed before, during and after
competition.
2.A vegetarian eats mostly or only plant
foods. Some people eat this way of
religious or cultural reasons. Some people
eat this way for healthy reasons. Eating
more fruits vegetables and grains has
shown to reduce risk of cancer and
cardiovascular disease.
3.Taking large amounts of vitamins, such
as vitamin A,D,E and K, throught a dietary
supplement can be toxic to the body.
These vitamns are stored in the body fat.
