Vpa guidelines:
Theme: “true colors: embracing freedom and equality through creativity”

General guidelines:
1. All the contested events are open to all students of Tuguegarao City
Science High School Junior High.
2. The officers of the clubs are facilitators, the officers can join other events
as long as there will be no conflicts on the events that they are assigned
to facilitate.
3. Every student is required to join at least one event and at most two
events. Failure to comply would lead to deductions in the section's
overall score.
4. For stage events, (Dance number and Fashion Show), Students who will
not participate are strongly encouraged to watch, for audience impact
will be used as a part of the criteria.
5. The guidelines shall be strictly observed. Any failure to follow the
guidelines means a demerit or disqualification from the participating
section
6. Being five minutes late to the event will mean automatic forfeiture of
the event. Please observe punctuality especially in the major events.

Major events:
 Fashion runway
o the contest will have five categories:
 Denim
 K-drama Leads
 Vintage (50’s or 60’s)
 Streetwear
 Posh (high fashion)
 T-shirt painting design
o Each category shall have two participants(except for the T-shirt
painting design category). One boy and one girl.
o For the T-shirt Painting design category, the contestant can
execute the t-shirt freely or rather choose any outfit that will
match the t-shirt.
o As for the other categories, contestants must strictly follow the
theme. If not followed the contestant should be disqualified.
o After judging, one participant of each category will be crowned
Best in Denim, Vintage, K-drama Leads, Streetwear, Posh (high
fashion) and Execution of clothes.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:

Compatibility of outfit to theme 55%
Audience impact 15%
Execution of outfit 30%
 Mural painting
o This contest is open for all grade levels.
o The concept sketch of the design (with colors) will be submitted
two days before the event.
o Each grade level shall have six (6) participants for the mural.
o The contest will be held at Annafunan East gym.
o The contestants shall provide their own mediums and painting
materials for the contest.
o A jeep will be provided by the officers for the participants who
will be joining the contest. The commuting fee will be handled by
the officers
o The painting shall revolve around the theme given by the officers.
o The mural will start on the second day of the event at 8:00 in the
morning and will end at 4:00 in the afternoon.
o There will be a deduction of points if the group failed to finish the
mural.

Originality 25%
Relevance to the theme 25%
Overall appeal 35%

 arts quiz bee

o Each class shall have 2 groups with 3 participants each.
o The participants shall provide their own slate boards.
o The topics will revolve around:
 Renaissance Art Era
 Industrial Art
 Modern Day Art
 current events
 facts and trivias
o The quiz bee will contain 22 questions in total. 10 questions for
the easy round, 7 questions for average round, and 5
questions for the difficult round.
o The pointing system will be one point for the easy round,
three points for the average round, and five points for the
difficult round.
o Sites where you found your answers can be considered except
for Wikipedia and other non-trusted sites.
 o Using cellphones during the contest is not allowed.
Participants caught cheating are considered to be
disqualified on the contest. Also deduction for the overall
points.

 Just dance
Junior division
o Each class (Grade 7-8) will perform a dance number with
the music “PSYCHO” BY RED VELVET.
o Each group must have five (5) members each.
o This members of the group may be composed of all males
and females, or any combination thereof.
o The use of any props such as dust, party poppers or confetti
is not allowed.
o Changing some moves of the dance is allowed.
o Revealing clothes are not allowed in the contest.

senior division
o Each class (Grade 9-10) will perform a dance number with
the music “UH-OH” BY G-IDLE .
o Each group must have six (6) members each.
o This members of the group may be composed of all males
and females, or any combination thereof.
o The use of any props such as dust, party poppers or confetti
is not allowed.
o Changing some moves of the dance is allowed.
o Revealing clothes are not allowed in the contest.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:

Execution of dance 40%

Costume 25%
Audience impact 10%
Stage presence 25%
Minor events:

 t-shirt painting
o The contest is open to all grade levels from the junior and
senior division.
o The theme for the design will revolve around the theme
“True Colors: Embracing Freedom and Equality through
Creativity”
o There should be two participants each class provided with
one white t-shirt.
o The contestants must bring their own materials: one (1)
white t-shirt (any size), acrylics or fabric paints, and
brushes.
o The final output for the t-shirt will then be used for the
fashion runway

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:

Creativity 20%
Originality 15%
Relevance to the theme 25%
Quality of the art and Overall design 40%

 photography
o Each class shall have 1 participant.
o The photographer take photos based on the theme " True Colors:
Embracing Freedom and Equality through Creativity "
o The photographers are allowed to create their own
background/background -design for their picture.
o The best photo should be printed on a size 4R photo paper.
o The photo should be passed one day before the activity, along
with a brief explanation of their photo.
FOR THE FASHION RUNWAY:
o The photographer shall take photos of each participants of the
fashion runway on the day of the contest.
o The contestants can use any digital camera for taking photos.
o The photographer can take photos before, during, and after the
fashion runway.
o The best photo should be printed on a size 4R photo paper and
placed on a frame.
 o The time for the photo to be passed is on the second day of the
event.

Composition of photo 20%

 coffee painting
o The contest is open to all grade levels from the junior and senior
division.
o The theme for the design will revolve around the theme “True
Colors: Embracing Freedom and Equality through Creativity”
o The officers will provide the canvas (which is watercolor paper) to
be used on the contest
o The contestants must prepare and bring their own materials:
coffee paints, extra coffee grounds, and brushes.
o The use of other mediums rather than coffee is prohibited from
the contest.
o Borrowing and lending materials from other contestants will be
disqualified from the contest.

 anime quiz bee

o Each class will have THREE participants for the contest.
o The participants will provide their own slate boards and chalk
o The topics will revolve around knowledge on anime openings and
endings, anime plot, facts about the anime industry and
identification of an anime character
o It will contain 25 questions with 10 questions in the easy round, 10
questions for average and 5 questions for the difficult round.
o The pointing system will be one point for the easy round, three
points for the average round, and five points for the difficult
round.
o Sites where you found your answers can be considered except for
Wikipedia and other non-trusted sites.
o Participants caught cheating are considered to be disqualified on
the contest. Also deduction for the overall points.
