Frequently asked questions (FAQs) on Card Closure for greater than 12 months

Dormant customers

As per RBI Circular on Master Direction – Credit & Debit Cards – Issuance and Conduct
Directions dated 21st April, 2022 Clause 8 (b), if a Credit card is not used for a period
of more than one year, the card shall be closed by the Bank post 30 days of notice.

1. What should I do in case I want to retain any of my Cards?

To prevent your Card(s) from closure, please ensure to do the below, before, the date as
mentioned in the communication sent to you:

1) Give a missed call on <7573060605> from your registered mobile number


OR
2) SMS CCUSG to 5676766
OR
3) Simply transact using your ICICI Bank Credit Card as mentioned in the
communication

1. Why did ICICI Bank send this communication to me?

You have not used your ICICI Bank Credit Card for making any purchases for more than
12 months.

2. What would happen to my ICICI Bank Credit Card after expiry of the date mentioned
in the communication sent by the Bank?

1) If your ICICI Bank Credit Card has not been used for making purchases during the
period as mentioned in the communication, the card shall be closed permanently
and cannot be reinstated. All the linked cards including add-on cards shall be
permanently closed too.
2) Reward Points, if any, shall not be redeemable after the card is closed by Bank.

3. What if I have Credit Balance available in my ICICI Bank Credit Card Account?

In the case that the customer holds an ICICI Bank savings account, the excess credit shall
be refunded into the same.

In case of payment made through a non-ICICI Bank source account, send the below
documents to customer.care@icicibank.com to process the refund:

1) ICICI Bank will transfer credit balance to the source account of the last mode of
payment done by you.
2) Corresponding Bank statement which has the Bank name, A/c No., IFSC code, A/c
holder name and Debit entry of the payment made against the credit card.
1) If Bank statement does not have the IFSC code, then Copy of cancelled cheque
along with bank statement debit entry is required.
2) In case last mode of payment is UPI using a Wallet transaction (PHONEPE,
PAYTM,CRED), in addition to the above docs you are required to send a
screenshot of the transaction done through these Wallet Apps featuring the
Transaction reference number.

In case either of the details are not available, ICICI Bank will reach out to you for account
details to transfer the excess balance from your Credit Card to the desired account.

4. How do I check all the Cards I hold?

To check for all ICICI Bank Credit Cards you hold, log into your Internet Banking
